Great album! Their stuff has always been very hit or miss to me, but this one is really damn good start to finish…love it…from the first listen-through, Simultaneous and Autumn are the real stand-out tracks to me…they’re all great though, honestly!

This is a damn masterpiece. I listened to it last night in bed with the headphones. Tons of layers and earcandy. I’m sure these songs will be amazing live. Also, I can’t help but wonder/worry that some of these lyrics maybe are inspired by relationships with Tool bandmates? I guess it doesn’t matter, the album is awesome. The album is maybe best described as a little more complex and a little less accessible than the previous. That said, it’s probably best to soak in this album at night with the headphones know what I mean? Sometimes albums do not sound… Read more »

Right on. And Maynard has never sounded better…I think this album has by far some of his best vocal performances ever. I think “Autumn” is easily one of the best songs he’s ever recorded, with any of his bands.

You believe that ‘Autumn’ is “easily one of the best songs he’s ever recorded”?
Are you serious?

That does seem like an over zealous comment. But wouldn’t say so in the context of Puscifer, certainly. That’s a standout track on the album for sure. Kind of chilling, in a way (no pun intended) when he delivers the lyrics “soon enough I’ll go winters way”.

Assuming one get’s the reference to “autumn” years.

Galilio, Augustina, and The Remedy are my standouts. Grand Canyon is great of course. As a whole, it’s spectacular. Can’t wait to see the live show in Vegas.

My biggest hangup with Puscifer has always been that a lot of it was just flat-out boring to me (especially COMP) and there weren’t many stellar MJK moments, but he shines crazy good on this record! Carina’s stuff and the music and instrumentation are outstanding on this album too…they nailed it this time!

Not as good as two previous LPs, however I won’t be surprised if I change my mind after more listens.

On simultaneous, it sounds like Danny Carey doing the spoken word

It’s maynard, but his voice has been pitched down considerably. Something about the cadence of how he speaks makes it pretty clear. Curious if the story is a true personal experience, or just something he made up. Either way, interesting opening to that track.

This is definitely the most consistent and approachable Puscifer release. I doubt it will win over many fans of other maynard projects who have already steered clear of puscifer… but it could nudge a few over that have been toeing the line, i suppose.

I like it. Little more cynicism coming through. Senile maynard seems fun.

After my first listen I didn’t think the album as a whole stood up to the first two tracks they released…but in saying that it always takes time to process and digest Puscifer. Will be cool to see what direction they take on stage with the new tracks…do we know if this ‘Monster Mash’ will be recorded?

Wow, what a fantastic album! Puscifer get better and better. A silver lining to the wait between Tool albums. The bass tones and riffology on this one are the highlights for me.

Thanks, I didn’t catch that. She damn near looks like she could be Carina’s sister.
