Confirmed by Blair today is Tool‘s intention to perform a rehearsal as part of the VIP Event in Arizona:
While hanging out at the loft yesterday , I overheard (fly on the wall that I am) a band member talking about doing a REHEARSAL during the upcoming TOOL VIP EVENT. Wow, a REHEARSAL would certainly be a bonus attraction, especially for those who don’t have a ticket for the festival (baring any proverbial train wrecks, of course.) Actually, a proverbial train wreck might REALLY make it an experience to witness!
That makes the $500 event a whole lot more interesting I reckon! It’s still debatable as to whether this is value for money, but seeing Tool rehearse (albeit with a couple of hundred others) is certainly an opportunity very few people get. And given all the terms and conditions in place for the event, it wouldn’t come as a huge surprise to me to see some new material previewed (though I expect the event will probably just be Adam, Danny and Justin).
Buy tickets from Toolband – not there’s not a huge amount left – 50 at the time of writing!

dont get your hopes up too high. adam also played jambi during the last VIP event. maybe this is what he understands as “rehearsal”. him playing jambi. alone 😉
didnt they do this before and maynard wasnt part of it? its prob some thing like that again. im sure the ones that are their will find it awesome anyway but for 500 bucks i donno. u also get a ticket to the show right? or no? that was only last time wasnt it? for 500 for a ticket and vip deal/adam talk thats kinda worth it for all of it but not less. ive seen tool 18 times. i should get in to one of these things for a case a beer and a hang out 🙂
None of the VIP events Tool have done have included a ticket to the show.

Yep, it’s true! Hope some audio of it leaks, and I’m sure it will be awesome, but they’ve got to get together and get this (last album) thing done!! Seriously.

for some reason i thought the VIP deals had a ticket. something did. i just cant remember what it was then. remember something like this had a ticket plus other goodies. ah its bugging me now. i cant remember. :/
From memory the ones in Australia did.
I got a front row ticket from the Spokane VIP.
They handed out all the tickets in the line right before they let us in.
We also got a bag full of swag.

Again, hopefully a Fourtheye regular is going to this? Maybe we can get a full report as to what circus antics occur this time around? In other news from bands that are being productive… I saw Intronaut last night with Mastodon (Ace of Spades Sacramento, CA)… They played about 6 songs total and the only one that wasn’t new was “Core Relations”. As for those new songs… I’ve grown even more excited for the new album because the live version was fantastic.
