I noticed the other day on Facebook following one of the San Francisco sows that someone commented Danny Carey was playing with a new cymbal. Well on the Tool Facebook page today (and presumably soon on Toolband) this seems to be confirmed with a photo of him holding a interesting purple cymbal from Paiste:
here’s a photo of his NEW SIGNATURE PAISTE CYMBAL, which features, among other sigils, Elizabethan Magus John Dee’s “hieroglyphic monad.”
As you can see from the photo below, it’s a great looking cymbal, so if this kind of stuff is your thing then keep an eye on the Paiste website for details!
Tool’s latest shows have been pretty epic in their own right. I just wish they’d play something different. It’s awesome to hear The Grudge, Parabola, and Opiate. I hope they play Eulogy, Rosetta Stoned, Reflection, and some other songs off of Undertow. It was pretty cool they played Sweat, even though they fucked up the intro.
Do you have any thoughts, hellboy1975?
I wish they’d vary the setlist more, but they haven’t for that last 10 years, so my expectation is that we’ve seen all the changes there are to see this time around.
Precisely why I opted out of going to this tour. I’ve seen the set enough times. Although, “No Quarter” is appealing… but that’s not a TOOL song so it didn’t weigh heavily enough.
I’ll wait for a new album.

Off subject. Only posting here since its the most recent thread. I would like to email blair, does anyone know the best way to do that, the @toolband email doesnt work anymore. Do i email him from the site credits link (satans little helper)? Help is appreciated, thanks.
What do you want to email Blair about?
I ended up emailing the link in site credits but maybe fourtheye memebers would like to pitch in there opinions… Heres the email i sent, blair, hows it going? id like to ask you a question, if i may? ive seen tool play live since i was 10, starting with lateralus in 01, thanks mom! ive always seen them where i live, seattle and spokane WA. they’ve always done a great job, no complaints, definate highlights to my life, nostalgia. You fucking idiot.
Thanks!
In all seriousness… You could probably expect the audience to be slightly louder in their hometown.
That may make them a little more excited.
Other than that, I doubt you would notice any difference in their actual performance from show to show.
