Tool to headline Governors Ball in NYC

Turns out the rumours of Tool headlining the Governors Ball in New York were correct with the line up confirmed this week.  Overall it’s an interesting lineup full of acts you wouldn’t typically expect Tool fans to show a lot of interest in.  Despite that, I expect it’d be fun day.

Tickets are already on sale, and it appears only 3-day tickets are a thing for now (which I expect isn’t going down well with everyone).

No word yet on any other Tool shows, but the rumour mill seems to suggest there might be, I haven’t heard much personally though (possibly since I’ve been offline for the last 10 days).

Never been to NYC! Hoping for single day passes. I am sure there will be more dates confirmed. Buffalo NY along with T.O, Quebec City and Montreal (Amnesia Rockfest). Perhaps Boston and Philly too. Maybe Chicago and Cleveland with Detroit.

that original fist in your ass……..

I live on long island but I won’t go through the hell to get to this show. I’m just not getting why they would play this festival. To be honest I’m tired of their bullshit. It’s come to the point that I couldn’t care less if they ever come out with another album or not. I’ll get my tool fix by listening to Chevelle.

Haha youre “sick of their shit” because theyre playing a festival date in the middle of summer?! Start your own band and then maybe you can call the shots. And PS dont let the door hit you in the vagina on the way out……..

headlining bands usually clear 6 figures at festivals like these. so it’s an easy paycheck for bands that…
how do we say… don’t really have to
work hard? i mean. all the younger acts still
got to bust ass. but for veteran bands that everyone else has seen a bunch of times. it’s easy money. and tool loves them some easy money….. see the christmas
ornaments and blankets.

Never thought I’d see the day. Tool and Lorde, and whoever the fuck the rest of these guys are. Why?

Phoenix are a good band but they released their last album 4 years ago! I suppose the organisers of these things are running out of quality headline acts to bring the punters in. The only way to stop Tool touring is to stop buying tickets and that wont happen…

I really hope they do a full month-long tour of the northeast / areas they skipped last time around. I’m in Maryland so I’m hoping for a D.C. / Baltimore / Philly area show at the very least.
