A Perfect Circle tease new single and songs on tour

We’ve had a couple of posts from the Perfect Circle social media camp the last few days, suggestion that things are in motion for new songs this tour, putting further weight behind the claims an album is in the works.

First up was a post the other day from Maynard suggesting he had some new songs to work on for the coming APC dates:

With claims of #apc2018 some on twitter asked if Tool was off the cards for next year, to which Maynard’s response was “Both?”.  Despite that, I’d say it’s unlikely we’ll see a new Tool album next year, though perhaps they might actually get to a point where they can record it.

Also released this morning as a preview of sorts on the APC Facebook page.  It’s a short silent video with the text “The Doomed” on it.  I’d hazard to guess The Doomed is the name of a new song, and perhaps we’ll see this released in the near future (possibly the 17th according to this site).

Don’t forget that A Perfect Circle are touring across North America, kicking off in about a weeks time:

I love it! The tour that no one wanted will now be complimented with the album no one wanted!

MJK – Giving Tool fans stuff they don’t want since 2007.

Re: “Both?”

MJK was responding to someone that commented something along the lines of “I love both your bands”. Unfortunately they committed the cardinal sin of omitting Puscifer.

I thought both was referring to both Bands being off the card next year.

Kind of reminds me of an interview MJK did with Australian radio station Triple J back in maybe 2014/2015 when APC were playing Soundwave festival. I think Puscifer actually played as a ’surprise’ at the festival too (Not too sure… can’t remember the specifics). But, maynard was on this whole kick back then about making a stipulation that he didn’t want any questions asked about Tool during interviews. Anyway they talk about apc/puscifer/his dumbass wine, and then right the near end of the interview one of the hosts asks him something along the lines of (I’m paraphrasing), ”So how are… Read more »

Wait, didn’t APC already “learn” and play new songs on their previous tour? I don’t follow the band as much as some do, so I’m not quite certain, though I thought I heard what sounded like all new material at the show a saw not too long ago in Nashville.

Billy has got music ready to go and Maynard has lyrics. Maynard is not lazy, even if you hate his winery and everything else. I remember years ago when people typically blamed MJK for the lack of new Tool. Yet time and again he’s shown a willingness to complete projects. Danny plays some shows with some pub band the last 10 years; the other two have literally done nothing but collect gear and noodle around and spin their wheels.

It’s funny how it just flies over some peoples heads and they continuously blame Maynard for a lack of new TOOL material… He said it perfectly… “Do I seem like a lazy person to you?”.
