It’s been a little while since we’ve had a clear update from the band as to where they are at with recording the new Tool album. We know that Danny & Justin have done their parts, and that Adam is working on his. There has been some speculation as to how when Maynard would be doing his in between A Perfect Circle commitments.
Well today Maynard has offered an update via his Twitter account, which lets us know that progress is good, and that we can still be expecting it to get completed by 2019:

It’s always good to hear some formal update from the band. Hopefully no one is getting excited about a 2018 release, because that seems quite unlikely. I reckon that by the end of the year we should have heard that the album is complete, and possibly even had a chance to pre-order it, and maybe even check out the first track.
