A Perfect Circle So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish

A Perfect Circle have released a video for their track So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish from their most recent album Eat The Elephant

The track is an interesting one – it’s one of the poppier moments from the album, and certainly on that had me raise my eyebrows on first listen.  My initial reaction was definitely “what the hell is this” but the song actually grew on me quite a bit.  It’s not one of my favorites from the record.  Being a Douglas Adams fan, I’m quite fond of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy reference, and enjoy the somewhat subversive lyrics which seem to be opposed to the style of song presented.

For your viewing pleasure, here is the video:

Such an abysmal song and album.

The visual contrast to the Sonic tonality is actually quite pleasing. Although I’m not a fan of the song or the album I feel like this video gives it some substance. Kind of cool actually…

Off topic a bit, well, a lot… Does anyone follow Adam on Facecrook or any of the socials? Wondering if he’s posted that he and the family are okay, pretty sure he lives in Malibu.

Yes he did post an update on his Instagram. They are safe and so is their house in Malibu.

Was more leaning toward the artwork, he’s got to have troves, same with the wifey, would be a shame to lose it all like that 4th Eye guy from a while back.

This song has definitely grown on me. The music video is very weird, but cool. I’m not sure what the meaning is behind it though.

What would you do if you knew the world was about to end?

The people from the music video were acting and doing the things they were doing because they knew the world was coming to an end?

What I got was that the video was supposed to mock people who act like what is going on in the world is “normal,” even though, as the video portrays (in a dramatic way), something is obviously “fucked up.”

So, amongst other things… you saying that means that you obviously equate the scene with the two men dressed as
police kissing in the video as being, “fucked up”.
Wow. That’s some seriously next level homophobia there.

Thanks for twisting what I said into making me out to be some sort of homophobe.

Fucking prick.

These videos are very cliche and bad. Love the music though…
