Tool June 2019 Newsletter

The latest iteration of the Tool newsletter is out, and this month Blair recounts the tale of the band visiting CERN in Switzerland whilst on tour in Europe:

Even though some of the CERN workers are Tool enthusiasts (and pose for photos while raising the horns) this doesn’t change my mind as to the true purpose of the LHC. And, besides, its currently down for maintenance (?), so no instantaneous deliveries of strawberry ice cream to the Orion Delta, opening the rusty gates to hell or any conCERNs whatsoever about accidently erasing the known universe with their Higgs-Boson “god” particle. At least until they ramp up again (pun not intended).

I know some where expecting Blair to come good on his “promise” for news “next month”, but personally I felt this was a little optimistic. New will come soon, I’m sure, now that the band has wound up it’s tour. Be patient!

That’s cool they visited CERN, and found fans there. I also kinda enjoyed the shtick about portals tbh.

The tension is palpable. Any news prior to Aug 30 is vaguely irrelevant anyway (to me). So excited for another soul download from these wizards.

This ordeal of waiting for the newsletter and getting stuff not about the album, which is now less than two months away, kind of reminds me of The Castle by Franz Kafka. The anticipation is definitely building. Hopefully we get something soon.

Perhaps the visit to CERN involved artistic inspiration? The LHC images are a bit saturated in society now. Like the 2013 MegaDeth album. Of course that didn’t stop Tool from naming 10K Days right after they dissed on Disturbed and Disturbed’s recent album was 10K Fists. I can’t wait for Tool to release this new EP. (ha ha!)

Blair’s been bullshitting fans for years. Still waiting on the “curveball’ that he used to harp on about.

I am starting to get concerned about the August 30th date.. No news other than a date that they have shown on tour. Maynard is going to be harvesting grapes soon and Danny is back at the Baked potato.. Anyone else concerned?

Thanks for the reply HB. It is not easy being patient. It just seems odd to me that nothing has been mentioned on Tool’s official website about the release date.

Not at all. They wouldn’t give the 30th August date if it wasn’t the album. We’re still 2 months off. I would expect a single drop later this month, but I’m sure their record company would want to capitalize on the hype. 13 years since 10k, this album is one of the most anticipated albums of all time. They need to start hyping this thing.

I would’t be surprised if we just get just one single and clip on August 30th and then de announcement of a new album and its details…

0 steps closer to solving the 10,000 Days puzzle.

If we solve the puzzle Blair will finally throw us the Curveball. (ha ha! yeah right) Things I noticed about TTDays artwork: The “snowflake patterns” seem to create a 3D image as well. And, Mr. Keenan is the only member that doesn’t have a preceding Close Up image. Which to me means his portrait is a clue which needs to be looked at closer.

Didn’t they say it was the Kabbalah/Tarot thing with the band pictures? Thought there was a whole newsletter about it, but someone may have told me that wasn’t the “whole thing” or something.

I just assumed any puzzle in the 10k Days artwork was just bullshit, a wild goose chase for the band’s entertainment…that being the most “Tool” thing to do.

Tool’s demo is on iTunes and other places like Google Play or whatever it’s called. I just bought it on iTunes and it’s called 72826. Hopefully they release the rest of their catalogue soon.

For some reason it says item currently not available in the US whenever I try the link from Reddit, now the Tool Profile that was there earlier is also gone…. Strange

I found it here as well

But there are short commercials. Still wonder about the ITunes deal… that’s my main source of music streaming. Also this non live version of Cold and Ugly is awesome. I cannot recall ever hearing the non live version. Well one thing is for sure things are being set in motion…. slowly

I’m in Canada but when I do a search I can no longer find it. The first song, Cold and Ugly, cut off before the song ended so I wonder if that’s the reason.

I posted the link to the YouTube stream that’s working (with short commercials) and Cold and Ugly cuts off short there as well. (Btw LOVE the non live version) apparently everyone is having the iTunes problem which is my main means of listening to music. Not sure if my other post posted but either way things are being set in motion at least

It appears Tool have owned themselves on the big 8 week digital rollout ‘stunt’ of albums they were surely so proud of themselves about…

I think it would be absolutely hilarious if they use the same “time table” to release their full portfolio on the digital platform that it took them to originally release all of their material. So, all the digital music wieners of the world, thinking that they’re going to get all of Tool’s music delivered to them on a silver platter at once via digital platforms….. have something else in store for them… Starting with the demo release 🤣🤣🤣

That would be funny.

I don’t really understand why it’s such a big deal. I have the entire catalogue digitally anyways. I actually uploaded it to my GOOGLE Play Music account so I can stream it any time. I mean… who cares? What we need is new music or at least the Opiate video! Why hasn’t that been released yet? It’s amazing the weird decisions these guys make…
