Revolver Interview and Album Art update

As the ever moving Tool hype train hurtles further out of control, in the last couple of days we’ve gathered some further information about Tool’s upcoming Fear Inoculum.

First up is a recent interview with all 4 members of the band in the September 2019 issue of Revolver Magazine. Adam, Justin, Danny and Maynard all speak about their respective journeys in the last 12 years, and what it’s taken to write a new album. It’s a pretty interesting read if you’re keen to hear from the members of the band.

It’s relatively light on details on the new album however, though it does reveal that there is reportedly 85 minutes of music, with 7 songs + 2 segues. I’m not actually sure how 85 minutes fits onto a single CD, so will take this report with some light skepticism for now.

The other piece of news of interest from the article is the suggestion that Alex Grey may have contributed to the album art after all. Adam says:

we approached Alex Grey at about the same time he approached us. And he was very into doing something with us again. We talked and he had this thing called The Great Turn, and it’s basically this being that has two sides.

The good new is that Adam mentioned an Instagram story today that the artwork will be out “tomorrow”. I expect this should be sometime in the next 12 to 24 hours. Perhaps we’ll also get some solid details on the package including pre-order details!
