Second Sydney Tool show added!

Pre-sales seemed to go pretty well for most Fourtheye readers I’ve been in touch with, and some added good news for Sydney fans is the extra Tool show announced for the 18th of February. There’s no pre-sale for that show – all tickets go on sale tomorrow with the public sale.

Speaking of which, the public sale of the remaining tickets for all shows kicks off once more at 2pm local time. As noted earlier, pre-sales were only a selection of all the tickets, so expect good seats and more GA tickets to be available tomorrow. Those of you interested in an upgrade should probably try your luck.

As for me, I was lucky enough to grab 4 GA tickets for Melbourne. I didn’t do anything special, just waited patiently in the queue and about 3-4 minutes after onsale time, I was able to purchase. It was a pretty stress free experience, though I imagine I got lucky more than anything else – there were plenty who were lucky just to get seats. I’ve heard some say they had more success using the Ticketek app, but I’m not so sure there’s a solid technical reason behind this – I suspect more confirmation bias, but worth a try for those with an appropriate phone.

For those still in the dark, Frontier has all the ticketing information available here: https://www.frontiertouring.com/tool

Pretty keen for a Fourtheye meetup or two in February. I’ll be attending the Brisbane show and the first Melbourne show (maybe the second too if budget/time allows). My time in Brisbane will be limited, so might be a meetup at/near the venue, but Melbourne we might look at having a BBQ in the park, like we did way back in 2011. Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

same was also early, trying to negotiate with my wife which wasted time, then with time still left on the timer says there aren’t enough tickets… Based on the dates I would say they will squeeze another show in for Brisbane

I’m in right now and there’s still tickets available 2:53PM. Only GA gone.
Over the space of 30 minutes there were still GA there, and I had 2 seats in sections 17, 17A, G26A, 25, 28 …and more in back sections. Just kept going back until I got Section 13 which is what I wanted. When it said “There aren’t enough tickets to meet your request right now.” just keep clicking next. Dunno how you missed out being on that early.

Not much patience will do when you have queued before 2pm, into the selection page at 2:01pm, selected your tickets with 5 mins left on the clock to be greeted with “there aren’t enough tickets” then refreshing clicking next for 20 minutes to no avail.

weren’t frontier touring the company embroiled in the whole selling tickets to resellers incident with metallica? I find it hard to believe a place as big as the Brisbane entertainment centre would sell out that quickly and for resellers to have the tickets on sale through viagogo as fast.

Perhaps the world is going too fast for me nowadays.

Hmmm, there is a sneaky window Tuesday, February 25 and Wednesday, February 26 where TOOL are free to add in another show somewhere. I wouldn’t be surprised if they filled in that gap with a 2nd show back in Brisbane if the first one sold out so quickly. That would be cool 🙂

They are doing THREE shows in San Diego in January plus returning to Glendale, Arizona in January despite only playing there a few weeks ago.

There won’t be another Brisbane show. They won’t go back to back nights in separate cities which rules out the 19th or 21st. The 24th to 27th gap is needed to get their shit across the ditch.
