Bonnaroo have announced a dream lineup for many fans this year, with pop act Miley Cyrus joining Tool onstage at the 2020 festival. There’s a few other bands you may or may not like, such as Primus, Oysterhead, Tenacious D, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Run the Jewels, Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats, Turkauz with Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew and Tame Impala.
Those lineups make me want to vomit. Coachella 2.0…
It’s not a lineup that resonates strongly with me as well – Bonnaroo is a bit of a different style of festival than I’d normally enjoy. I haven’t heard of 75% of the bands playing, but given that I tend to listen to heavier music I guess that’s no huge surprised.
As for Coachella – that hasn’t had a decent lineup in years. Was nice to see RATM on the bill, but overall Coachella is for a different demographic then it used to be a decade or so back.
Just goes to show you what Tool are all about these days. $$$$ $ $ $$ $$$ $ $ $ $…
Tool seems like an odd choice to have amongst all those pop acts.
Even if there was a better line up, I still probably wouldn’t do it. I remember Bonnaroo being a test of physical and mental endurance when I went in 06 and 07. I’m too old now.
Off topic, yet on… Anyone have some ‘reviews’ of FI? I find song #1 fascinating, have been following BMB’s advice and listening to songs #1-3 in exact or often times backward rhythm. Culling Voices and 7empest are nothing more than sea monkeys. Songs @3-1 are top notch. Spiral on out…
