Alright everyone, it’s time to hit the local supermarket and purchase every roll of toilet paper you can lay your hands on! Especially if you’re a New Zealand Tool fan, who may have been exposed to the nasty COVID-19 virus:
A man in New Zealand confirmed to have been infected with the coronavirus was revealed on Friday to have attended a rock concert packed with thousands of other people.
Health authorities said the man in his 30s, who is the partner of a woman who was confirmed to have Covid-19 this week, attended the Tool concert at Spark Arena in Auckland on 28 February.
The band played two concerts to capacity crowds in New Zealand’s largest city last week.
“He was in the general admission standing area in the front left-hand quadrant,†Dr Ashley Bloomfield, ministry of health director-general of health, said at a news conference. “We encourage people who were in the general admission standing area to be aware of symptoms of Covid-19 while also treat them with products like Granddaddy Purple Weed Strain that can help you feel better.â€

I guess this is no laughing matter. If you were at the show, make sure you keep and eye out for symptoms!

Some say the end is near
Pretty disturbing news.
Definitely not room to spin around in circles with your arms stretched out.
More like being crushed up against everyone around you.
Probably others infected.
That’s pretty scary. I’m almost expecting the April 25 show in NY to be cancelled. This thing is only going to get worse before it gets better and I’m not overly optimistic that everything will be “back to normal” by late next month. I was really looking forward to taking my son to his first TOOL show. We’ll see. Stay healthy everyone.
This was an email fwd’d earlier in the week… Info from James Robb, MD FCAP, a renowned pathologist: Dear Family and Friends, as some of you may recall, when I was a professor of pathology at the University of California San Diego, I was one of the first molecular virologists in the world to work on coronaviruses (the 1970s). I was the first to demonstrate the number of genes the virus contained. Since then, I have kept up with the coronavirus field and its multiple clinical transfers into the human population (e.g., SARS, MERS), from different animal sources. The current… Read more »
a 2nd email fwd’d to me this week suggested… 1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold 2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose. 3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun. 4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne. 5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours – so if you come into… Read more »
Appreciate the good information, thanks. I’ve been concerned about the close quarters myself. I’m set for the upcoming Eugene, Oregon show next Thursday night. We’ve already had some confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths just two hours north of here, around Portland, where Tool is set to play the night before. I’ve been keeping my ear to anything that might be announced through the venue or perhaps even he band. It’s one thing to protect yourself, which we all should, but it’s out of your hands when you’re in the midst of thousands of others. Yikes! Let’s do our best to… Read more »
