Puscifer Live at Arcosanti & Maynard’s Coronavirus

Puscifer Live at Arcosanti & Maynard’s Coronavirus

There’s a growing trend among bands in these crazy COVID-19 ravaged times to hold pay per view streaming events, and Puscifer are the latest to have a go at this, with the upcoming Live at Arcosanti show. According to the blurb:

Puscifer performing their new album “Existential Reckoning” in its entirety, from Arcosanti in the Arizona Desert.

Livestream Event | October 30, 2020 Tickets on now at Pusciferlive.com.

You can check out the trailer below. Tickets cost US$20, and there’s a range of packages including posters, records and other bits. Sounds like a cool show, though not in such a cool time zone for Aussies. Note that the show isn’t actually live, it was pre-recorded a few weeks back. It’s not clear if there will be some other “live” elements to the stream though.

Regardless, it should be an interesting watch!

In other Maynard news, in an interview recently he revealed he is a recovering from a coronavirus infection back in February. Here’s an excerpt from AZ Central:

Q: What was it like to have your plans for the entire year upended?

A: Well, I’m not a delicate flower. You make the adjustment. “OK, well, we can’t do that. So what are we gonna do? Are we just gonna take this opportunity to unplug and kind of step back and reevaluate everything?” It was good. I mean, I was still recovering from having gotten COVID at the end of February. I’m still dealing with the residual effects. But it was ugly. I survived it, but it wasn’t pretty. So I definitely had to deal with that.

Q: Wow. I didn’t realize you had COVID.

A: Um… yeah. I kind of didn’t want to run around screaming it. But it’s real. And there’s after-effects. I had to go through some major medications to undo the residual effects. Still coughing. There’s still lung damage.

Q: Oh man, I’m really sorry to hear that.

A: Several of my friends, too. Very not old people, young people, in shape, runners, who contracted it as well. And they’re still dealing with some of the after-effects. I lost a few family members.

Q: Man, I’m so sorry to hear all that. Are you feeling all right now?

A: Well no. I still have the cough. Every other day, I have these coughing fits because my lungs are still damaged at the tips. And I just got over the inflammation that was going on with my wrist and hands. I had an autoimmune attack on my system in the form of, like, a rheumatoid arthritis. Basically, from what I understand, it attacks weird spots and it’s random. So that’s what I got. That was my prize.

Note that is was reported earlier in the year that there was a COVID-19 outbreak at one of the Tool shows in New Zealand in February. I suspect they aren’t directly linked, but who knows…

Hopefully Maynard can make a complete recovery going forward, and that the world collectively take this pandemic with the seriousness it deserves.

Yes, but seems there would be a good likelihood of rehearsals including camera / angle and probably trial shows with full video feed to get what they’re going for dialed in. Don’t you think? I think it’s going to be live after a lot of rehearsals in advance… I’m not sure how good this can be but sure is interesting. I’m sure they’re selling enough tickets WW to justify throwing the whole kitchen sink into getting this right and setting up future streams like this. Puscifer seems like a band they can do this with but you still lose the… Read more »

agreed bout the album, however performed live those songs sound much better.
i just feel really disappointed that this stream was announced as ‘live’ and it wasn’t. there would be no problem if they said clearly what it was instead of lying like that. i wouldn’t expect that of mjk :/

I just bought a ticket and a t-shirt. Call me a sucker – I don’t care. I like supporting the artists (the whole band – I know Maynard’s loaded). 2020 has taken away the amazing concert schedule I had lined up so this will be my “concert” of 2020. The t-shirt will be a reminder of the one show of 2020. Also, I have a bit of a t-shirt addiction…
Bottom line is I love music (especially Maynard’s) and I needed some new positive music experience in my life. Stay safe and healthy everyone.
