Tool Newsletter January 2021

It’s been a little while since we’ve had a Tool Newsletter with a great deal of updates from band members, but Blair has posted one recently which updates us on what Danny & Justin are up to at the moment:

Would you good folks settle for a half of a Tool newsletter? Okay, great!  Here we go.  A while back I mentioned that DANNY was tracking with Peter Murphy (of “Bauhaus” fame) and that he was playing a different snare on each tune.  Currently, there is a bit of a pause with some of the mixing due to the recording rig at the Loft being under construction, but the good news is that JUSTIN is also performing on the album, with bass contributions to possibly 6 tracks. The Tool bassist is also putting the final touches on the next MTVoid album with Peter Mohamed.  Entitled “Matter’s Knot”, the great Bob Ludwig has mastered 5 tracks, so that album is nearly ready. If that weren’t enough, Justin is also working on 2 tracks with Tristan from “Author and Punisher.”  And there you have it (pun in all), and several things to look forward to in 2021, and it’s only January.

Pretty keen for these projects! I wander what else 2021 will bring? I suspect we probably won’t see much from Tool until 2022, but you never know!
