Drumeo are one of the best drum channels on Youtube, and have covered Danny Carey‘s work several times in the past. This week, they get Mike Portnoy – known for his work in Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment – to have a crack at learning Danny’s drumming in the Tool track Pneuma.
Mike undersells his ability somewhat (he’s a great drummer) and eventually cranks out a pretty decent version of this classic tune. A great way to warm up for the coming European tour!
After completing the track, Mike challenged Danny to give The Dance of Eternity a shot – will the challenge be accepted?
I noticed he’s watching that live video of Danny playing it. Doesn’t impress me after knowing that.
