High up on the average Tool fans wish list is a limited edition Undertow CD, and I know many were emotional wrecks after it was sold as a tour exclusive at recent shows. Fret no more Tool fans, this limited* edition reissue is now available for $250 from the Toolband store.
It looks great for the most part, and was designed by bassist Justin Chancellor with a pretty nifty package curated by long time Tool packaging conspirasist Mackie Osborne. Here’s the original Fourtheye announcement for this 30th Anniversary Re-issue of Undertow. Signed copies sold on tour for $500, so I guess $250 is a relative bargain?
In other news, still no word of any vinyl reissues for Aenima, Lateralus or Fear Inoculum.
*limited to as many as the market will bear
Looks beautiful. $250.00 seems high for unsigned though. I would estimate $10-$20 in overall mass production and design efforts? A bunch of plastic, paper and cheap metal. For this price the coin should at least be pure fine Silver. Plus, it would be nice if it was a re-recording with current members of Undertow with what’s been gained from live embellishments etc … now THAT would be something worth $250!
