For many years, Tool live recording enthusiasts have enjoyed the hard work of the team at collectiveunconscious.org. Great news is that it’s back with a mild revamp, and features all of the juicy details on Tool recordings – both live and otherwise. When combined with other resources such as the Tool Drive Project, it makes is easy to research and obtain recordings of your favourite Tool show.
For example, I was able to dive into a recording of the best Tool gig I’ve been too – Adelaide in 2002 – and discovered that it has a great recording available. Lucky I guess, and very cool! Go and check it out for yourself – I was fortunate enough to see one of the final performances of Jimmy that night, which is quite well recorded.
As to CU.org – it seems as though we can look forward to a few special releases soon, apparently including a couple of Masters obtained over the years. This one has a cool Hooker With A Penis instrumental. Looking forward to hearing more!
Whatever happened to distortiononline.com? It had a nice database of tour dates with setlists, notes and photos. It’s a shame all that info just disappeared.
!!!!!!!!!!! in 1990 there was a band MJK + DC + Marko Fox (ZAUM) + Green Jello bass guy?! and there’s a recording?! how can we get that?! it is listed there, but how to actually get it?
