Tour Dates, Vicarious Video Update

Blair‘s posted plenty of new tour dates on Toolband, including some East Coast US Dates, and some more European dates. Also confirmed was that Tool will be playing in Athens in December, though the venue is TBA. Apollo has blessed you.

There’s been lots of interest in the Vicarious video, and when it would be released. In response to this, Chronographer on Toolarmy posted a link to an interview with Adam, where he says they needed to hire a new CGI Team, with the implication that the onld one was crap. Expect the video (and DVD?) later this year…..

Hey Hellboy, do me a favour and post this little tidbit up as your next update: “On the topic of releases, a lot of people have been asking me what I think of the new Tool album, well to be honest i’m really disappointed. I expected to be disappointed though, so I don’t know if that counts as disappointment, I think there needs to be some kind of high expectation to warrant that. So lets just say I’m pissed off, that they released what they did. I wasn’t huge on lateralus either, but I see 10,000 days as the next… Read more »

The only disappointment I have with 10,000 days is that it seems too short. Also… the lyrics aren’t as good – ‘If I could I’d wish it all away if I thought tomorrow would take you away’ …lame. But I’ve still got faith in the album. I recall saying that Lateralus seemed rushed; And when I first bought aenima, I was extremely disappointed. 10,000 days (the song) is way too Catch 33 for me, if you know what I mean. Change it up a bit. If I could, I would keep The Pot, Lipan/Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned, and Right in Two,… Read more »

Yes it does. But you have to admit that this album doesn’t even come close to the staying power of say Aenima or Undertow. To be honest i ahven’t listened to ‘10,000 Yawns’ since I bought it in early May.

Disappointment makes me excited to see what’s going to grow out of it. The bigger the disappointment the bigger the lotus flower the bigger the Buddha.

I was excited to be disappointed in 10,000 days. And then, when I wasn’t that disappointed with it, I got even more disappointed, and hence more excited.

The series of little epiphanies that turn each album from a disappointment into something that can’t be touched, that’s why I love Tool so much, and why they’re my favourite band.

I love how people say they hate this album because its too short. “Hello, the year is 2011, and Tool gets ready to release their 5th full length album. The name is unknown but leaks have circulated and it seems to be the band members recording themselves taking shits over the past years. The tool fans are sure to like this because the album length was announced to be a dual disc totaling 120 minutes. THis is MTV news, Bullshit 10 minutes to the hour every hour”.
Just a fair example i created, feel free to “flame”

Sorry but unrelated, if TOOL play the BDO do I
have to come up with a dyed black fringe and a
peuce colored cardie.Maybe TOOL could change to
“The Tool” just so those sixteen year-olds get it. Although worst case scenario maybe others outside the sydney or melb. might get to see them.

The point being, my little color challenged
friend, will TOOL be a chance for the BDO taking into account the festivals they’ve played so far on this tour?
I can’t see em here in 06.
