100 Greatest Rock Drum Performances

For peole who like arguing over top 100 lists, here’s a list of the Top 100 Greatest Rock Drum Performances by some guy I’ve never heard of. John Bonham’s performance in Moby Dick tops the list, but Danny has a respectable 6 appearances, with Ticks & Leeches take out position 3. Reflection(28) would appear to be Danny’s second best drumming work according to this list, which personally I’d disagree with.… Read More »100 Greatest Rock Drum Performances

Happy Pencil, Micronaut

Bastardometer from Toolarmy mentioned that Cam De Leon has a new book available at her site. It features some great artwork, and also some conceptual design drawings used for many of Tool’s album covers and videos. Adam’s myspace site also has a new image gallery called Micronaut. COuld this be a preview of the new video? Is the new single called Micronaut? Only time will tell I guess, either way… Read More »Happy Pencil, Micronaut

Signed and Unsigned Vinyl available Nov 25th

Blair has posted on Toolarmy that the Signed Lateralus Vinyl will be available on Friday November the 25th. No time was announced, though Blair mentioned he’d try and get that information out to members before it happens. No other details were offered but presumably the cost will remain the same (US$100 + US$16 shipping to Australia) and that members will be limited to one each. There was also no indication… Read More »Signed and Unsigned Vinyl available Nov 25th

DVD(s) & Flash

Word on the street is that there may be two DVD’s released on the 20th of December. On with the Parabol/Parabola video and the other with Schism. Still no word on what else may be on the DVD(s) however selling two DVD’s each containing just one video seems a little silly to me. If you’re interested in a cool Tool-related Flash animation, check this one out….

Distortion Online

  • Tool

Distortion Online have an entire concert from November 2001 on their site at the moment. The quality is excellent, and I’d suggest you all stop wasting time here and have a listen!

3rd Annual “Red Party”

Maynard will be a VIP Reception host at an upcoming party for the Life Through Art Foundation. The event will be held on December the 2nd at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. It also features, amonst others the lovely Alyssa Milano! If you wanna hang with Maynard, it looks like the VIP tickets cost $300, all of which goes to a good cause I suppose…. Go here for more details.

Adam + The Melvins + Jello, Butcher

Toolband/Army reports that Adam may play at the upcoming Altamont/Melvins/Biafra at the Henry Ford Theatre, presuming he can find time in between making videos, album artwork, stuffing 3-horned sheep, etc. They also report that Butcher will be playing at Zen Sushi on December 6th.

Schism DVD, Live DVD and the Jelvins!

Finally, some sort of news! Blair has said today that a DVD with the Schism and Parabol/Parabola videos will be available sometime before the end of the year, and that December 20 seemed to be a good date for this. He did confirm that this isn’t the Live DVD, which will be released at a later date. Blair has promised that as well as the videos, the Schism DVD will… Read More »Schism DVD, Live DVD and the Jelvins!

Chat Transcripts

The TA chat transcripts seem to be up. In case you don’t feel like wallowing through them, I’ve assembled a bit of a list of highlights. New Tool CD *Both Adam and Maynard say Joe Baressi has been great to work with, better than David Bottril. *There will be lots of Gamalon? samples on the CD *The longest song recorded so far is 17 minutes long. *Sccot Reeder saws the… Read More »Chat Transcripts
