This morning they have confirmed that the shows in April, and most of them in May have officially been postponed. Details are below: TOOL’s April 16 to May 5 North American tour dates have been… Read More »Tool postponed April & May dates

Live Nation to postpone all tours due to COVID-19

News this morning that promoters Live Nation are planning to postpone all tours due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Importantly for us, this would include coming Tool dates across North America. The Live Nation stock price has taken a considerable nosedive today as well. Music promoters are important for what we love, so hopefully this is only a temporary setback. Billboard writes: Recognizing national concerns over the spread of the coronavirus,… Read More »Live Nation to postpone all tours due to COVID-19

Eugene Tool show tonight cancelled

Eugene Tool show tonight cancelled

It looks very much like what many of us have feared is coming to a head, with tonight’s Tool show in Eugene cancelled for Coronavirus related reasons: No word yet on other shows this tour, but I think it would be logical to assume that remaining dates, and likely the shows in April as well will probably not go ahead. More news as it comes!

Vic Firth presents Danny Carey playing Pneuma

Amazing footage this morning, with some multi-angle and excellent sounding footage of Danny Carey working the kit during a recent performance of the track Pneuma off Tool‘s latest album Fear Inoculum. It’s great stuff, and well worth the time investment for drummers and Tool fans alike!

Aussie Tour kicks off tonight!

It’s here my friends – the Tool Australian and New Zealand tour of 2020 kicks off in Perth at the RAC Arena. Good luck to all our Western Australian comrades who are getting along to the show! I saw a really cool article online the other day from PLSN (Production, Lights & Staging News) which talks to several of Tool’s crew members about the epic light, video and laser production… Read More »Aussie Tour kicks off tonight!

Tool Lego?

Tool Lego?

There seems to be a few articles around the place highlighting a proposed Tool Lego set by master builder blocksandmocs, in which there is a stage, and a representation of all 4 band members. It looks kinda cool, though I’d love to see more in the way of a Tool specific stage – perhaps the heptagram? It’s a Lego IDEA, so if it gets enough votes it may actually happen.… Read More »Tool Lego?

Genius of Tool: Undertow

Youtuber saystheman behindthemask has created an interesting video taking us through some of the making of Tool‘s Undertow. It’s a reasonably comprehensive video, and one that I learned a couple of things from. If this sounds like your thing, check it out below!

Tool live audio system upgrade

Tool live audio system upgrade

Cool article came across my desk this morning, in which Tool sound blokes Liam Halpin and Alan “Nobby” Hopkinson discuss some new audio hardware the band has employed in it’s Fear Inoculum shows: Late last year, as fans eagerly awaited the release of Tool’s first new album in 13 years, Fear Inoculum, Halpin and FOH engineer Alan “Nobby” Hopkinson introduced an overhead speaker system to add an extra dimension to… Read More »Tool live audio system upgrade
