Wait for it…

A mysterious post appeared on Toolband over the weekend with nothing other than “Wait for it…” and a small orange dot being posted. “Wait for what?” is the obvious question here, but it appears there are a couple of possibilities. Rumours (I have no insight into the source except it comes from a Tool Army fan page on Facebook) suggest that Tool might be headlining the Monster Mash Music Festival… Read More »Wait for it…

Zola Carey born

Danny has announced the birth of his son Zola Carey, as well as posted a photo of him: For those wondering, he has a middle name – Jude. Welcome to the world Zola Jude Carey! Speaking from experience, Danny has a busy few months ahead of him, but hopefully he’ll be able to squeeze in a Tool jam session every now and then. Congratulations from everyone at Fourtheye!

Maynard undergoes hip surgery

News from Maynard’s Instagram account this morning suggests that he’s recently undergone hip replacement surgery: Didn't want to freak anyone out, wanted to wait until out of the woods. Years of foot stomping left me with no cushion in my right hip. Full replacement yesterday. Walking today. 12 weeks, back on the mat to work towards that Brown Belt. Tool May 2015 Newsletter

Blair has posted the May 2015 Tool Newsletter for your reading pleasure. It’s one that is unlikely to win many fans amongst Blair’s critics, however may drop a few cryptic hints as to what Tool are up to these days. The most interesting part I got from it was: How about the rumors of the band playing some festival date, where they can finally unveil Junior’s drone-suspended lightning configuration? No…… Read More »Tool May 2015 Newsletter

Maynard still waiting for music?

Think the new Tool album is getting close now? Suspect they might be in the studio? Maynard hoses it all down in his usual fashion: @JackEchann @JanuarySeraph No. Lyricist is still waiting for music. Pay attention. — Maynard J Keenan (@mjkeenan) May 13, 2015 Maynard will also be appearing on Comedy Bang! Bang! in an episode to be broadcast on May 15. Check your local TV guides!

Happy Birthday Danny

Seems that Danny’s birthday isn’t in my calendar for some reason, so I missed wishing him a good one in Australian time. Still better late that never. To celebrate, here’s compilation or all Danny’s “drum-cam” stuff from his website. 21 minutes of Tool drumming goodness starting off with my favorite of the lot – Triad:

Komara release first track

Komara are a new band featuring Pat Mastelotto from King Crimson. Many of you will remember that a couple of weeks ago Adam Jones posted some artwork that was revealed to cover to Komara’s debut album. Today Komara have dropped the first track off the album, and in my opinion it’s quite good, and I imagine will appeal to most Tool fans. Check it out (and pre-order if you’re inspired… Read More »Komara release first track

Adam’s strings, Maynard Puscifer update and more!

As usual a bunch of things happened while I was away for a few days, so this post is a catch up of sorts. Tool April 2015 Newsletter released

Blair has released Tool‘s April 2015 Newsletter, and since I’m in a rush to get out the door this morning I haven’t had a chance to read it. At a quick glance though it looks like they played a gig somewhere…
