Being For The Benefit Of Mr Keenan

As we all know, Maynard has contributed to The Flaming Lips next album With A Little Help From My Fwends. It’s an album of Beatles covers and features Maynard on the track Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite. You can stream it on NPR. There’s also an interesting interview with Maynard and the members of the Flaming Lips where they talk about the track. It’s worth a watch:

Jakob unleash Sines

New Zealand instrumental post-rock band, and regular Tool touring buddies Jakob are preparing to release their long awaited new LP Sines in a couple of days. These guys joined Tool on tour Down Under in 2011 and then again for a show in NZ in 2013. Justin even joined them on-stage in a memorable set at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. In a recent interview with Off The Tracks they… Read More »Jakob unleash Sines

The Colossus of Destiny – A Melvins Tale

Details have emerged of a documentary about The Melvins: The Colossus of Destiny – A Melvins Tale. There is a blurb on their website, but due to some really shitty HTML I’m unable to copy and paste it easily. Essentially this is described as “an up to date visual documentation and celebration of the band The Melvins”. Going by some of the screenshots on the site it appears it will… Read More »The Colossus of Destiny – A Melvins Tale

Smoke On The Horizon

Adam posted a shot from (hopefully) the Loft’s whiteboard today with the hashtag #SmokeOnTheHorizon. Will there be fire where there is smoke? Update: And a follow-up from Maynard:

Trademark Nerd summarise Tool’s legal plight

It was reported several months ago that Tool were facing a legal battle related with Cam De Leon‘s work with the band, and the insurance associated with that legal action. Legal documents were found, and discussed both here and other forums online. For some the legalese used was a little overwhelming and it wasn’t necessarily clear what was actually going on. Trademark Nerd have created for us a summary of… Read More »Trademark Nerd summarise Tool’s legal plight

Paul D’Amour speaks to Bass Player Magazine

Paul D’Amour speaks in the latest issue of Bass Player magazine, mostly discussing his work with Lesser Key, however he does touch on his time with Tool and his reasons for leaving: How did your time in Tool affect you as a musician? That experience changed my DNA. To go from 0 to 100 miles an hour in the span of a year was incredible. All of a sudden, we… Read More »Paul D’Amour speaks to Bass Player Magazine

Danny’s website updated

Danny’s website was a mess of Flash animation and poorly thought out menus, and today has been updated to a much easier to navigate WordPress based website. After a false start this morning, the site is now available. Upon a quick inspection there didn’t seem to be a huge amount of different content from the old site, just much easier to get too. While visiting the site, you may be… Read More »Danny’s website updated

Puscifer launch new website and Toma video

Maynard hinted a couple of weeks ago that a new Puscifer website was on the way, and today that ambition has been realised. To celebrate it appears they have released a new video for the track Toma, directed by Tim Cadiente and featuring the Flying Caliente Brothers. For your viewing pleasure:
