April 2013 Tool Newsletter

Blair has posted the April 2013 Tool Newsletter, and it doesn’t have anything particularly exciting for Tool fans (ie no new album news). It does feature and interesting question regarding Truckfighters, as well as some clarification regard a few things with the Opiate reissue: Q: “Hi! Don’t know who to contact really, maybe you could help me in the right direction? Just checking will TOOL release new material soon? Hopefully… Read More »April 2013 Tool Newsletter

Sip & Listen pre-Tool wine tasting events

I had a chat with my mate Matt from Sip & Listen Wines this afternoon, and I asked him to summarise for me the wine tasting events prior to each Australia Tool show. For your convenience, here is his response: All tastings are FREE. You will be able to purchase the wines and they will be sent to your home or office in the coming days. So you don’t need… Read More »Sip & Listen pre-Tool wine tasting events

Ashes Divide live and Danny “Superman” Carey

A couple of things I’ve come across this morning. Firstly Billy Howerdel‘s other band Ashes Divide, who feature Jeff Friedl and Mat McJunkins from Puscifer are playing a show at The Satellite in LA on May 8th. Carina Round is also on the bill. You can find more detail here. Thanks to fortysixand2 for the tip. Like many of us, I watched the new Superman trailer yesterday. It didn’t spark… Read More »Ashes Divide live and Danny “Superman” Carey

Happy Birthday MJK

It’s Maynard’s birthday today, and in the time honoured Fourtheye tradition I shall post a video of him doing one of my favorite Tool songs. Happy Birthday Maynard – see you in a couple of weeks! Watch for the cool laser effect at around 6:25…

Aloke Dutta Competition

After the interview with Aloke the other day, forum regular Mog suggested we run a competition where the prize is a free one hour lesson with Aloke via Skype. Mog graciously donated the fee for the lesson (valued at $100), and Aloke has agree to provide the winner with a PDF copy of one of his books to help with the lesson. The lesson itself is suitable for all musicians… Read More »Aloke Dutta Competition

Opiate Reissue arriving soon!

Word from nxrm in the forums today was that he received his copy of the Opiate 21st Anniversary reissue. His was ordered via Toolarmy, so I’d expect fellow soldiers to receive theirs in the coming days (or weeks if you are outside of the US). No word on if standard orders were mailed at the same time (I suspect some are still to be sent) – I guess we’ll find… Read More »Opiate Reissue arriving soon!

Aloke Dutta Interview

As promised in a recent post, I collected questions from many Fourtheye readers, and then presented them to Aloke Dutta via the wonders of Facebook. A couple of hours later and I had a response! How’s that for efficiency! Without further ado I present the answers: Is there any possibility of you playing with Tool again? ALOKE DUTTA: Sure, once they get their shit together! Individually, all four band members… Read More »Aloke Dutta Interview

Adam to provide art for new Red Hare album

Looks like one of the pieces Adam shared recently on Instagram wasn’t for Tool, but for punk band Red Hare‘s album Nites of Midnight. I’ve never heard of Red Hare but they consist of Swiz members Jason Farrell (also of Bluetip and Retisonic), Shawn Brown (also of Dag Nasty and Jesus Eater), Dave Eight (Swiz and Bluetip), as well as Joe Gorelick (of Garden Variety, Retisonic, and Bluetip). Here’s a… Read More »Adam to provide art for new Red Hare album
