Aaron Turner hints at Tool studio date

News on progress on the new Tool record is quite elusive at the moment, and while this is nothing concrete, some new information has come to light courtesy of one of our forum members: Interview with Aaron Turner a few nights ago on RRR radio. They asked him what albums he was looking forward to in 2013. He mentioned Tool and the interviewer commented on the massive gap of nothingness… Read More »Aaron Turner hints at Tool studio date

Josh Freese quits A Perfect Circle

News today via Twitter that Josh Freese has pulled the plug in his participation in A Perfect Circle: After 13 years, I’ve decided to leave @aperfectcircle with no plans of returning. Apologies to those inquiring about the upcoming shows. Sad news, but not entirely unexpected. Josh didn’t play with the band on their last tour and was replaced by Jeff Friedl. I expect Jeff will be confirmed as the new… Read More »Josh Freese quits A Perfect Circle

Stuff that happened while I was away

Here’s an overview of some largely non-Tool news that’s happened over the weekend: Firstly Blair posted the latest Tool Newsletter, which features a great interview with Tool lighting dude Junior. He answers a range of questions regarding his work with Tool (and other bands) and even name drops Adelaide as one of his favourite… Read More »Stuff that happened while I was away

Rumblings of a One White Onion show?

Just posted on Facebook is the news that one of Justin’s side projects One White Onion may be playing a show sometime soon. They also updated their cover photo: Also added to their Facebook page was this photo of a recording type setup. I’m guessing it’s a studio on Justin’s property? Hopefully we may get some M.T.void news soon as well!

Danny plays drums with reggae band Steel Pulse

cultiv8420 sent me a email this morning with a video featuring Danny playing drums for British reggae band Steel Pulse at their recent show at the Canyon Club in LA. Not the greatest of recordings, but it’s interesting to see Danny drumming outside of his usual genre:

Maynard talks about the End of Days

Maynard’s first column for Up On The Sun has been published over night, and it’s about end times and winemaking: My copy of the Mayan Calendar appears to have expired, so it is currently of no use to me. I got on the Bunker bat phone to Tim White at Arizona Stronghold and Todd Bostock at Dos Cabezas Wineworks to see if they were witnessing a similar trend. Turns out… Read More »Maynard talks about the End of Days
