According to Toolband/Army: Regrettably, MONDAY’S SHOW IN MISSOULA, MONTANA has been POSTPONED due to illness. Maynard has a viral infection in his throat and has been instructed by his doctor to get some rest. Hopefully for Montana fans this is reschuduled sometime soon. Get well soon Maynard.
Blair’s November Newsletter is now up on Toolband/Army, and talks about some of his adventures on the road with Tool. He also talks about the soon to be release merchandise (more details in the soon to be posted December Newsletter apparently), and depending on how much you read into these things, some may be inclined to think that some kind of Salival reissue may be happening…
On December 21st at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, Alex Grey will be presenting a special screening of Vicarious as well as a documentary of the making of the video. Once again the Vicarious Video is a collaboration between Tool and Alex Grey, and I know there’s a lot of us out there very interested in the results. The session costs $25, and this includes an autographed copy of the… Read More »Entheologue With Alex Grey
Another interview with Maynard has popped up, this time on the Spinner website. Once again Maynard opens up on a range of topics, resulting in another very worthwhile interview. Here’s a snippet: Has having done Caduceus helped you develop your business sense? Tool and A Perfect Circle — both bands are very much aware, on many levels, what goes on with our business. We were much older than most people… Read More »Maynard on Spinner
Just a couple of quickies for you. Firstly PlayingNaked showed me this piece of hidden (from my Gmail account anyway) info in the latest CoSM newsletter: Limited quantities of the TOOL VICARIOUS DVD signed by Alex Grey will be available as soon as we get them and will have the option to be shipped by FedEX in time for Christmas delivery. Please keep checking the websites for details. Secondly dickleiper… Read More »DVD via CoSM, Tour Rumours
This week I ask a controversial question in regards to Tool’s set list. Many of you complain that there is too little variety in the current list. Some argue that since the presumption is that the majority of people see only one show per tour, this isn’t a big deal, while others defend it by suggesting the set needs to stay the same due to staging reasons. How do you… Read More »New Poll: Does a repetitive set list alter your view on Tool’s live performances?
It’s been speculated for many years now that one day there may be a Tool movie. Adam‘s indicated that he’s keen, but due to band commitments, red tape and the incorrect alignment of planets this may not happen for a while. To help bide the time, I decided to ask you what genre you think the movie should be? Surprisingly to me, all four categories I suggested all had about… Read More »Poll Results: What genre should Tool – The Movie be?
Shinji has given me the link to a great interview with Maynard by Spin Magazine. Maynard talks in depth about his music, in particular Puscifer, and about his life in general. He also comments that Tool will be sticking around, while A Perfect Circle are dead. One of the best and informative interviews I’ve read with Maynard, so make sure you check it out.
Blabbermouth reports that Billy Howerdel, guitar player for A Perfect Circle will be releasing his solo project Ashes Divide in March 2008. The album will be release on the Island Records label. According to the post Howerdel played all parts on the record except for the drums which were done by Josh Freese. The first track Enemies can be heard on the Myspace site. Sounds like APC minus Maynard to… Read More »Ashes Divide released in March 08
