Danny to take up acting?

In one of the more bizarre things I’ve seen recently, it appears Danny will be lending his voice to the coming animated comedy Free Birds: (Beverly Hills, Calif.) June 5, 2013 – Relativity and Reel FX announced today that they have cast Hispanic radio personality Eddie ‘Piolin’ Sotelo (Ice Age: Continental Drift), drummer for the world-renowned rock band Tool Danny Carey and Australian actor Josh Lawson (The Campaign) as the… Read More »Danny to take up acting?

May Tool Newsletter released with a Volto! twist

Blair posted the May Tool Newsletter yesterday, and for those keeping score it doesn’t really contain a whole load of Tool information. It does however contain a biography of Danny’s band Volto! who, in case you’ve been totally ignoring my last couple of posts, you’d know are releasing a new album Incitare in July. Not mentioned in the email is that you can head over to the Volto! website, sign… Read More »May Tool Newsletter released with a Volto! twist

Volto! reveal Incitare cover art, date and other details

In a followup post from the last one, Volto! have revealed the cover art for their debut album Incitare via Facebook, and without further ado: The comments with that image note that it’s the version from the CD and is Silver – I’m guessing this implies there may be other colours? The artwork is by 60s pysch artist Rick Griffin and who’s worked with the Grateful Dead and other artists… Read More »Volto! reveal Incitare cover art, date and other details

Volto! and Caduceus update

John Z from Volto! has given us an update on the coming album via Facebook, posting the back cover of an advance CD, as well as hinting at the date 23rd of July. It’s probably a safe assumption that the date mentioned is the release date for their new album, which according to the cover will be distributed by the Concord Music Group: It’s also been revealed that Maynard‘s Caduceus… Read More »Volto! and Caduceus update

Happy Birthday Danny

Danny was born waaaaaay back on May 10, 1961 (at least according to Wikipedia) and today, being the 52nd anniversary of his entry to this world, it is customary, at least on Fourtheye, to post a video of his finest work. Today’s video, is a version of Jambi from last weeks show in Adelaide. It features some nice work from Danny and his machinery. Those still waiting to see Tool… Read More »Happy Birthday Danny

Ashes Divide live and Danny “Superman” Carey

A couple of things I’ve come across this morning. Firstly Billy Howerdel‘s other band Ashes Divide, who feature Jeff Friedl and Mat McJunkins from Puscifer are playing a show at The Satellite in LA on May 8th. Carina Round is also on the bill. You can find more detail here. Thanks to fortysixand2 for the tip. Like many of us, I watched the new Superman trailer yesterday. It didn’t spark… Read More »Ashes Divide live and Danny “Superman” Carey

Danny Carey, Larry Lalonde, Matt Stone and Stewart Copeland

davidbowiedavidbowie from Reddit posted this video up from Youtube earlier today, which features a new jam with Danny, Larry Lalonde (Primus), Matt Stone (South Park) and Stewart Copeland (The Police). From what I understand the track is called Blotto Mondo and was recorded at Copeland’s house/studio. Danny contributes some percussion, including the triangle, in what is an interesting video:
