Volto! Incitare review and release

John Ziegler from Volto! posted the recent Incitare review from Rhythm Magazine on his Facebook page today. He commented that while the specific released date was to be announced, it should be mid March. Hopefully this turns out to be true! Here’s the review:

Danny speaks in Rhythm Magazine

Danny is featured in an interview for the UK drum magazine Rhythm in the February 2013 issue, and he discusses a range of topics including that status of Tool’s new album. Here’s the meat of the article I expect most of you are interested in: What stage are you at in the writing process for the new Tool album? We have six or seven really good frameworks that we’re working… Read More »Danny speaks in Rhythm Magazine

Danny on Children of Saturn tonight

Tonight’s Xmas Eve edition of Children of Saturn will feature Danny (who may well give us some form of Xmas update) as well as a debut from Butterscotch Bonnet (not exactly who that is, but I suspect it’s some kind of collaboration between Danny, Rynne and Julie Slick). Tune in here at 6pm Pacific time. I won’t be listening since I’ll be balls deep in Xmas celebrations, so if Danny… Read More »Danny on Children of Saturn tonight

Mandala Synapse looking for a kick

Posted on Toolband today was a link to Vince De Franco‘s latest project, the Mandala Synapse. I’m no expert, but it looks like a gizmo that allows you to connect a range of musical devices (mainly percussion) to a PC with low latency. Vince is looking for people to fund the device using the popular Kickstarter service. By pledging certain amounts, you can get a range of goodies, from stickets,… Read More »Mandala Synapse looking for a kick

Danny sells Sacred Geometry pillows!

In news just at hand, it appears Danny is selling some black Sacred Geometry pillows via his store at dannycarey.org: Pillow comes in TWO SIZES and contains a colorful reproduction of Danny’s talismanic pantacle board. Can be used as an ornamental pillow for the home, or as a cushion for drummer’s stools. With its esoteric symbols and alchemical motto, makes a unique gift for all fans of Danny and Tool.… Read More »Danny sells Sacred Geometry pillows!

Danny plays drums with reggae band Steel Pulse

cultiv8420 sent me a email this morning with a video featuring Danny playing drums for British reggae band Steel Pulse at their recent show at the Canyon Club in LA. Not the greatest of recordings, but it’s interesting to see Danny drumming outside of his usual genre:

Volto! new album update

Perhaps not the new album update all of us are expecting, but Volto! recently fed us some details on their new release, hopefully out there in next couple of months. Over the weekend they posted: the new album’s vinyl master discs were just cut today @ Bernie Grundman Mastering Studios, so it’s coming down the home stretch…. soon friendsupreme, very soon! ♥ And the over night the back cover of… Read More »Volto! new album update

Danny Mandala video

There’s another Mandala feature video with Danny going about at the moment, which features Danny speaking about how he works these devices into his music: Enjoy!

Children of Saturn Podcast now online

The Children of Saturn podcast from the other day is now online, and can be downloaded here. There’s some great music played right the way through, but for people with less time on their hands, the Volto! track is at the 60 minute mark, and Danny talks briefly about Tool right at the end.

Danny’s guest spot on Children of Saturn

It was at short notice, but Danny was the guest on today’s Children of Saturn radio show, which I was lucky enough to hear most of today. The show has been on a break for a couple of months, but started up again this morning and should be back to normal, hopefully with some interesting guests in the coming weeks. Danny played a range of cool tunes, and spoke about… Read More »Danny’s guest spot on Children of Saturn
