Guitar Hero 4 Confirmed

Ronnie sent me an email today pointing me to Alan Jones‘ website (Adam‘s brother). On the Bits page it mentions: Doesn’t all good summer fun begin with some yard work? Doing some of that… but I did have some real fun in LA on my last trip. After getting all of my work done and closing a deal for Tool (GH4) I spent the last day of my trip in… Read More »Guitar Hero 4 Confirmed

Danny records for Collide

According to a recent article on Side-Line, Danny has recorded several tracks for Collide‘s new album Two Headed Monster: Tool drummer Danny Carey has lent his drumming skills to several of the new Collide tracks which will end up on the band’s newest album “Two Headed Monster”. It’s not the first time the band has worked with Carey as he also played on one of the songs on the “Some… Read More »Danny records for Collide

June 2008 Newsletter

As promised, Blair released the June 2008 newsletter, and this time it contains some “details” of what’s up in the Tool world. Head over to Toolband/Army to read it, but here’s my summary. Adam is: working on some undisclosed entertainment industry related project? Guitar Hero perhaps? also involved in the construction of some future band-related endeavor. Building a recording studio perhaps? Spending time playing Halo 3 and watching Baseball games… Read More »June 2008 Newsletter

May 2008 Newsletter

Blair has posted the May 2008 Newsletter on Toolband/Army. It continues the May 2007 Newsletter regarding a trip to Mexico with Blair, Danny, Adam and a whole menagarie of the usual culprits. An interesting read, but don’t expect any Tool news or insight.

Danny = Healed!

According to a recent post by Blair on Toolband/Army, Danny‘s hand is more or less healed and he will be playing with Volto! in July. Even better news is that “he’s that much closer to getting back to jamming with his day-job band”.

Tool Update

Blair made a post on Toolarmy over the weekend that I missed, where he briefly mentions a bit of an update on where Tool are at right now: (in regards to Tool) I still haven’t heard of any new developments with regards to last month’s meeting with the band members, their lawyers, and management. I believe this to be good news. Ditto with regards to the other band project in… Read More »Tool Update

Paiste Ocheltree Spirit of 2002 Bronze Snare Drum

From the slow news day division of Fourtheye comes an extremely expensive snare drum (US $2,133.43) made by Jeff Ocheltree, the same man who created Danny‘s drumkit from old Paiste Cymbals. This item, available on Ebay is one of only 500 made, so don’t miss out! Thanks to Venomous-voice for the tip.

Danny injures himelf (again)

Blair posted on Toolband/Army today an article talking about Danny‘s recent injury. Apparently he was attacked by a Sea Urchin or Scorpion Fish. Lucky it wasn’t a Sting Ray I guess… Anyway, he elaborates to say that he’s had two surgeries on the hand, and that there probably won’t be any Tool or Volto! shows for a little while.

Not Danny’s Myspace

A quick post from Blair today tells us that Danny doesn’t have a Myspace site, and that anyone thinking they’re talking to him via this site is mistaken. Fans wanting to contact Danny should instead use dannycarey.org.

Aloke OK, Volto! coming soon

According to a recent post by Blair on Toolband/Army, Aloke is recovering well from his heart surgery in his home town of Shantiniketan, India. Good news… Also, Volto! will be playing at the Knitting Factory in LA on March 15. Make sure you grab a ticket!  prepare yourself, here’s a cool drum solo courtesy of rnp2003 from Toolarmy. Finally, for those that missed it, there’s a new NIN album out… Read More »Aloke OK, Volto! coming soon
