Jelvins, Melvins, Tomahawk and TMOC

Some non-Tool news for a change. There’s a relatively interesting, if a little short interview with Jello Biafra here, where he talks about his involvement with the Melvins. It boes on to mention that Adam Jones plays on half of the tracks on the new CD Sieg Howdy! Ipecac.com are reporting that the Melvins are releasing a ‘new’ version of Houdini in the near future. Also, Peeping Tom for mid-2006.… Read More »Jelvins, Melvins, Tomahawk and TMOC

Just a final couple of things on the Toolarmy Crowleymas chat. Volto and The Chat

More Volto news on Toolband/Army. It looks like they’re playing on October 30th at the Baked Potato. In case you’ve forgotten Volto include Danny Carey, John Ziegler, Kirk Covington and Lance Morrison. It’s also been reported that Eddie Van Halen was as on of John Ziegler’s regular jam nights. No word on whether he actually played or not. Toolarmy members shouldn’t forget about the TA Chat on this Wednesday (Thursday… Read More »Volto and The Chat

From John Ziegler

John Ziegler from Pigmy Love Circus has written the following regarding the new Tool CD, presumably on his Myspace site, though I haven’t had time to check that. Thanks to Bastardometer on Toolarmy for the heads up. the tools have put in a good year and a half working on the songs for this one. mjk even has words and melodies for the tunes already! and to be honest, i’ve… Read More »From John Ziegler

Puscifier, Butcher, Vinyl

Ultimate Guitar note that Puscifier appear on the Saw 2 soundtrack, specifically Danny Lohner’s REV 4:20 Mix of “REV 22:20”. For those that don’t know, Puscifier is a band featuring Maynard and Danny Lohner, and if memory serves me correctly, have appeared on other soundtracks in the past (Underworld maybe?). Also on the soundtrack and many nu-metal bands, but also Revolting Cocks. I also forgot the mention that Butcher played… Read More »Puscifier, Butcher, Vinyl

Big Day Out?

Toolshed has mentioned that Tool will be confirmed as the headline act for the 2006 Big Day Out festival down here in Australia. Personally I’d be a little surprised, but I guess you never know. If I remember correctly I can remember it being said that Tool have rejected the Big Day Out in the past due to inflexibility in the stage settings and set list length. I’d presume that… Read More »Big Day Out?

Sieg Howdy!

Punknews.org reports that Seig Howdy, the new CD from Jello Biafra and the Melvins will be out on September 27, and features none other than Adam Jones playing guitar on several tracks. Also a few dates their as well, no clue as to whether or not Adam will play with them like he did last year. Never Breath What You Can’t See was one of my favorite albums from last… Read More »Sieg Howdy!

Hey Joe!

It’s Joe’s (presumably Joe Baressi) birthday today, August 16th according to Toolband so I thought I’d share with you all an interview with ex-Helmet/Tomahawk/Mark of Cain drummer John Stanier, where he talks (amongst other things) about Joe’s recording techniques. Enjoy! Is it a coincidence that Joe’s birthday is the same date as the alleged Teleincision (not that it ever happened, surprise surprise!). http://www.ink19.com/issues/january2004/interviews/johnStanier.html

Vinyl, Aloke and Daily Grail Updates

Anohter update on Toolband and Toolarmy indicates that: The Autographed Lateralus Vinyl is on it’s way to the printers. Now I’m not an expert on the vinyl printing industry, but I’d suggest that it’d be several weeks before this becomes available. ‘There will be plenty of advance warning’ Blair says (sort of). Aloke Dutta is playing in Norman, Oklahoma on the 19th of August and in Dallas, Texas on the… Read More »Vinyl, Aloke and Daily Grail Updates

Aloke + Vinyl Pics

Another day, another new post on Toolband about something other than Tool…… This time it’s about their Tabla playing mate Aloke Dutta, who’s got three shows on in August, the first of which will be in Santa Barbara at the Mercury Lounge. Apparently the other shows will be in Oklahoma and Texas. Yeehaw! For those Laterauls Vinyl lovers, and those that just missed out in the recent sale, heres a… Read More »Aloke + Vinyl Pics
