Report from Wine Signings

DoubleSixx was nice enough to send me his report from the recent Wine Signings with Maynard and Eric in the USA.  For a detailed look into how the day went, read on… I arrived 4:25pm, with at least what looked like a hundred people online outside the building. No parking in sight, I parked way down the road and had a nice walk to The Wine Library. I got lucky… Read More »Report from Wine Signings

The Melvins USA Tour in August/September

According to Blabbermouth, The Melvins will be touring with the band Down (featuring that douchebag from Pantera) in August and September this year.  The article mentions “select U.S. markets” so I’m guessing it won’t be an extensive tour, probably just the larger cities.  Dates will be posted once I get them.

More Guitar Lessons with Buzz

King Buzzo from the Melvins has recorded another interview/guitar lesson with MetalKult.  As usual it’s a great interview, especially if you dig Buzz’s sense of humour.  He also dishes out advice on how to play Houdini tracks Honeybucket and Hooch. Rumour has it on the Melvins BBS that The Melvins could be touring with Down in the US later this year.

Lustmord discusses Tool, Melvins

isdfx from Toolarmy pointed me towards an interesting interview with Lustmord on All Things That Rock.  Here’s an excerpt: (Lustmord) Adam Jones is another good example of not so much the instruments he plays, but the person himself and the attitude and the aesthetic he brings to it. We had talked about him maybe not using a guitar because he makes great electronic music and really interesting experimental work outside… Read More »Lustmord discusses Tool, Melvins

Offline by Matthew Santoro

Posted on Toolband/Army today is a quick article talking about a new Sci-Fi movie from Matthew Santoro called Offline. The movie, as well as looking pretty cool apparently takes some influence from Adam Jones: My goal was to make a dark and gritty sci-fi/horror based cybernetic dream experience type thing with a couple of good friends, a camera, some duct tape, and a computer. Pure Gorilla as they call it.… Read More »Offline by Matthew Santoro

APC on Guitar Hero 5, Atlanta change

A couple of readers emailed me to let me know that A Perfect Circle will be appearing on Guitar Hero 5.  Details of this news and other bands announced can be found at Rolling Stone.  No word on what track will appear, but I’d put my money on it being Judith. A couple of tour changes were announced on Toolband today.  Firstly the Atlanta show which appeared to have a… Read More »APC on Guitar Hero 5, Atlanta change

Isis interview on Triple J

I’ve just finished listening to a brief interview with Aaron Turner from Isis, recorded by Andrew Haug for Triple J’s The Racket program (presumably what Three Hours Of Hour/Full Metal Racket is now called).  Was a short interview, doesn’t really reveal a massive amount we don’t know, but he does discuss how Adam came to be involved in the record.  It appears it mainly happened because Adam and Aaron Harris… Read More »Isis interview on Triple J
