Adam Jones designs Melvins poster

Adam has designed one of the posters for a series of gigs by the Melvins this year celebrating their 25th anniversary.  My understanding is that these posters may be available for sale at these shows.  Other posters have been designed by the likes of Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam. The 25th Anniversary shows are: May 15, 2009 – New York, NY – Webster Hall May 16, 2009 – Boston, MA… Read More »Adam Jones designs Melvins poster

News Catch-Up!

I’ve been away for a few days, and have missed out on several little bits and pieces of Tool related news. No tour news though, which is what people really want! Firstly, Maynard appears in the new movie Crank 2, which also features Danny Lohner, Mike Patton doing the soundtrack, and some dude from Linkin Park.  Thanks to Ziggy and AZB for the tips. In another movie related item, apparently… Read More »News Catch-Up!

Tool/Melvins Myth Busted?

Tool “Family” member Junior (or at least someone claiming to be him) posted a comment on Fourtheye just a little while ago: Although no band member was mentioned, I believe Blair was talking about Danny’s attempt at grabbing a very fast foul ball. Danny and Blair were at the game as were Buzz and I, though we were seated in a different section from them. They were on the front… Read More »Tool/Melvins Myth Busted?

Golf with Maynard “totally worth it”

According to an article on Wired, Tool fan Thomas Mrzyglocki had a ball with Josh Freese as part of the $20 000 Since 1972 package.  Amongst other things he got to play Mini-Golf with Maynard: For the golf outing, Mrzyglocki and Freese were joined by Keenan, Joe Escalante (who plays bass in Freese’s punk rock band The Vandals), several friends and a cameraman who recorded the match for posterity. Famous… Read More »Golf with Maynard “totally worth it”

Tool/Melvins/Ipecac Rumour

I read an intriguing post on themelvins.net BBS today, which reads: Tool, Melvins, Ipecac Records Something HUGE soon.  Just wait.  It WILL be worth it you prepubecent derelicts.  Oh, and Melvins as a four-piece=BEST YET. Is the big suprise some kind of Tool/Melvins collaboration to be released on Ipecac?  Given the various record labels involved, this could go some way to explaining the delays in the surprise being released. The… Read More »Tool/Melvins/Ipecac Rumour

Yet Another Puscifer Review!

This time courtesy of Amateur Chemist, who still had some money leftover after having lunch with Josh Freese.  It’s a pretty cool review, and sounds like a good show all round, with Billy Howerdel and Josh Freese both making appearances, as well as the previously documented Danny Carey. Here’s a snippet: “Major Douche” made his usual appearance warning the audience “No flash photography or video was allowed!” I had heard… Read More »Yet Another Puscifer Review!

Trent Reznor Digg Dialogg

Took some time out tonight to watch the latest Digg Dialogg featuring Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor.  As well as much insight into his thoughts on the music industry, gaming and several other topics, one of the questions asked was in relation to the Tapeworm project featuring Maynard.  Trent’s response was essentially that the music wasn’t up to scratch (he rated it a 7/10 when he really would expect… Read More »Trent Reznor Digg Dialogg

Josh Freese Since 1972 Packages

A few months ago I posted about Josh Freese‘s new album Since 1972, and outlined the various packages that could be purchased.  Many people suspected that much of this was a joke, but a recent blog post from the Amateur Chemist suggests that he’s coming good with his promises!  It even suggests that there has been someone wealthy enough to afford the $20,000 package, which includes mini-golf with Maynard: Josh… Read More »Josh Freese Since 1972 Packages

MJK on new NIN album

According the NIN.com, Maynard has made an appearance on the new Timbaland produced Nine Inch Nails album Strobelight.  The track, Even Closer features a duet with Justin Timberlake.  As with most NIN albums recently, it’s free to download.  You’d be a fool not to!
