Tool demo new material for Loft visitors

A couple of Instagram posts today with visitors to the Loft claiming they’ve had a live run through of the new Tool album (albeit without Maynard‘s vocals).  Word seems to be that the album is instrumentally finished, but still waiting on Maynard’s additions (which is more or less what Adam indicated last week). Yes it is true… the new Tool record is insane… (vocals still in progress) and the world… Read More »Tool demo new material for Loft visitors

Adam confirms new Tool album is moving towards completion

Adam undertook some more Instagram live streaming yesterday, and while it wasn’t some live cuts from the Loft, it did include a comment that the “Music is done.  Lyrics are coming in hard“.  Great news that the new Tool album seems to be on the home stretch. Danny also spoke with Overdrive about the new Legends of the Seagullmen album, and once more suggested that things were happening in Tool-land:… Read More »Adam confirms new Tool album is moving towards completion

Adam Live Streams The Grudge

Tool must have been rehearsing today, and guitar player Adam Jones decided to live stream them tearing through The Grudge on Instagram.  For your listening pleasure:

Danny speaks with Kerrang

In a recent interview with Kerrang magazine, Danny Carey spoke about Legends of the Seagullmen as well as a slightly more in depth update on the new Tool album.  There are no particularly insightful revelations, and Danny does joke around with 2018 and 2019 a bit, which suggest to me maybe he’s not super confident of it being this year (though he does go on to reaffirm it will be… Read More »Danny speaks with Kerrang

Hellboy’s Top 10 Albums of 2017

Yesterday I dropped the Fourtheye Readers Top 10, now today I present my own top 10 albums on 2017. The list is presented loosely in order.  Overall I thought it was a pretty solid year for albums, with a few newer bands I’d been keeping my eyes on releasing some excellent albums.  There seems to be a few less older or nostalgia acts releasing albums these days, so probably many… Read More »Hellboy’s Top 10 Albums of 2017

Another Danny Carey update on new Tool album

There’s another update from Danny Carey in regards to the new Tool album floating around, and this is courtesy of Drum Magazine: “It’s gonna be really good,” he said. “We’re really excited about it. We’re getting really close, too. We’re probably going to write the rest of this year and then start tracking early in the new year. So, it’ll be out some time in 2018.” Good news it seems,… Read More »Another Danny Carey update on new Tool album

Tom Morello on new Tool album + Northern Invasion

Tom Morello has reported on Instagram recently that he’s had a chance to check out the work in progress on the new Tool album: Had the honor of being the first outsider to hear new #TOOL music today!! Still just instrumentals but sounded epic, majestic, symphonic, brutal, beautiful, tribal, mysterious, deep, sexy and VERY Tool. Really great. So excited to hear the record when it’s finished. A post shared by… Read More »Tom Morello on new Tool album + Northern Invasion

Danny talks Legend of the Seagullmen with MetalSucks, drops Tool update

On a recent MetalSucks podcast, in which they speak with Jimmy Hayward and Danny Carey, the pair discuss all things regarding Legend of Seagull, and intriguingly how it ties in with future Tool plans.  It’s an interesting interview, though the audio is pretty poor, so hard to follow at times. The take I’m sure that most of you are interested in, is where Danny talks about Tool’s future plans, going so… Read More »Danny talks Legend of the Seagullmen with MetalSucks, drops Tool update
