Stage Production Article

Kiyou on Toolnavy posted a link to another article covering the technical aspects of the Tool live show.  This time the article covers there recent US Show which featured the big white stage and introduced the lasers.  Interesting reading. “The show looks very different based on where you are sitting in an arena,” says Grace. “Toward the end of the show, the screens in back of the band and the… Read More »Stage Production Article

Tour News, Coming Interviews, Mastodon Videos, Salival Request

Casi emailed me today, telling me that he received and email for Blair a few days ago, confirming that Tool will be touring the Gulf Coast region on their next US tour.  Hopefully those of you who missed out last time will be able to catch them next year. Toolshed mentioned that Danny and Brann Dailor of Mastodon will appear on this Tuesday’s episode of The Radio Rockshow. Speaking of… Read More »Tour News, Coming Interviews, Mastodon Videos, Salival Request

Don’t miss the sleigh, Cam’s Picture

Blair tells us today, that if we expect to get Tool merchandise before Xmas, we had better get out orders in before the 13th of December if you’re in the US, or by the 7th of December if you’re else where. This excludes TA membership packages which I understand are shipped by Yak from an 18th century manufacturing plant in the Himalayas. Also, Blair didn’t define if he was talking… Read More »Don’t miss the sleigh, Cam’s Picture

Melbourne BDO Selling Out, “We’ll be back”

I received a newsletter from the Big Day Out organisers, who tell me that the Melbourne Big Day Out is nearly sold out.  For you Victorians this may be the last opportunity for you to see Tool, as it looks like no other shows will be announced.  Tickets are sold out from stores and are still available only through Ticketmaster and the Big Day Out website. Foamy was lucky enough… Read More »Melbourne BDO Selling Out, “We’ll be back”

Tool in Turin

J emailed me today telling me that he saw Tool playing in Turin last night, and that he had some pictures to share. Check them out here!

Isis

Aaron from Isis has posted a whole stack of photos on their website covering the recent tour with Tool.  Plenty of good photos, and keep your eyes out for Tool members, “fake” tour buses and Diablo!  Thanks to Tommy on Toolarmy for the tip.

Tool Live Production Details

Kassel on Toolarmy has posted a link to an article which gives us some more insight into Tool‘s video and lighting show, as well as some of the logistics behind it: It’s hard to explain the depth of what goes into the production at a Tool concert to somebody who is not in our industry. Much like their music, the production is intelligent and progressive—the interplay of video and lighting… Read More »Tool Live Production Details

Big Day Out Update

The second announcement for the Big Day Out was made today, and joining Tool, Muse, etc are whole truckload of generally unexciting (to me anyway) bands. Highlights for me include You Am I, The Butterfly Effect, Afra & the Incredible Beatbox Band, The Streets and The Crystal Method.  No one that I’d go out of my way to see, but I feel would put on a good show anyway. One… Read More »Big Day Out Update

Sydney Sold Out (Again)?

I thought I’d just head over to the Ticketmaster website and see how the Tool ticket sales were going, and it looks like the Sydney show no longer has any tickets left.  I hope those of you who were looking for tickets were quick enough to get one…
