Re: RIP - The Dead Thread

Lost one of my best friends today. Really gutted. He was just on a short vacation, out on the street after dinner and dropped with multiple aneurysms and a heart attack. Still can't fully process it. We were so stoked to be seeing Tool live together again. He was loving the new album, and I'm really...

Re: New Album Touring

This is definitely the most cohesive album they've done. I can’t be bothered going back to check, but seems like you’ve evolved quite a bit from your first impressions of FI? For myself, I remember digging most songs from the first spin, but having a little trouble processing it all. So much hype w...

Re: Fear Inoculum

I tried running Invincible through a limiter, but like I thought, the actual file they put out is leveled well and such, the distortion occurs in the mix below the main channel. Perhaps its only on the bass track, I don't know. I highly doubt this was intended for effect. Maybe they made a trade of...

@ Norm and Boldone - both of your last posts above are based on well stated positions, reasoned, supported and very importantly respectful and considerate of the other’s experience. Despite being on different sides of your discussion.

Thanks.

Yep, I know Base. This was in iTunes for the single release way back in early August. Haven’t checked iTunes again to see if they corrected it.

Re: Fear Inoculum (track)

From the Descending topic (where Tyson mentioned Exercise vs Exorcise). Here are the screenshots showing that one, plus a few other doozies. Blew me away they got it this wrong in iTunes. I wonder if this came from someone related to the band, or if it was just some idiot trying to decipher the lyri...

Nobody's gonna give Tyson praise for his preferences in visual erotic stimulation? Bullshit.
This is classic Tyson. I can remember at least 2 more of these from him.

Re: Descending

I keep hearing Exorcise the spectacle Exorcise the malady Exorcise the disparate as exercise, like to give them strength. Well, funny you should say that. [And yes, I know that’s FI lyrics. Good one.] The first iTunes release of the single actually had that as the embedded lyrics. Really made me ch...

Re: Fear Inoculum

Nice review Busty! I align with much of what you said, and share the low end love. What a fucking rhythm section, eh?! Cannot wait to hear this material live, and most importantly in person. Btw, there were a couple of Too vs To errors in there (they’re?), but who gives a fuck mate? How many full pl...

Re: The Grudge (WARNING: It Hapenned!!)

Thirteen years and what do we get? Six songs that show pretty much zilch in the way of progression or artistic development. No risks taken. Cookie cutter Tool songs knocked out to appease the die hards, straight from an over cooked, over used template. Oh...and a drum solo. Thanks guys. I feel sorr...

That will be very interesting to see if they enforce that. And how will the poor suckers who bought tickets from these scalpers be treated? Left holding the bag? The right way to deal with locking out scalpers is at point of sale with ticket limits, forcing ID for entry, etc, and has been accomplish...

Re: Walking out my front door.

Just woke up from my nap, ya young whippersnappers... keep it down. "Pit" in this case was all seated. Amazing view, killer show. Those old fuckers really nailed it, and the setlist was a great pull from the many faces of KC. The last few Crimson gigs I attended were enjoyable, but missing a spark i...

In the past, “ToolArmy” was mostly about the Collective Unconscious site, which crashed and burned ages ago. There was the occasional presale and collectible offered, but that was the exception, not the rule. Since the community died, IMO, TA has just been a massive cash grab as it doesn’t offer mu...
