Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Not sure if this means anything is coming up... "Faint impressions perceived while scrying on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 e.v. that involved the members of Tool, although unable to provide detailed information due to soporific side-effects... or maybe my "Almuchefi" wasn't adequately ...

I think some of you might enjoy this. The band is Comrades. A three piece from Richmond, Virginia. Here's a link to their 6 song album "The Refugee" released in 2011: http://comrades.bandcamp.com/ And their newest release "Safekeeper" released last year: http://bloodandink.bandca...

I know, right? I'll just have to corner him at the next Baked Potato event and get him to sign a sworn affidavit confirming his appearance last night.badkittygothgirl wrote:Pics or it didn't happen. Ha!
In retrospect, I guess it could have been his decoy.

I went to see Minnow and Beware of Safety play at the Silverlake Lounge last night and Danny Carey made an appearance. I know the guys in BoS are Tool fans, and you can definitely hear it in their drummer's sound. If you're interested, you can check out Beware of Safety's new album 'Lotusville' here...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Extremely thankful that Fourtheye exists though. It's definitely been a haven in the aftermath. Thanks Hellboy! Oh man, this place was a haven for me even before that. The messageboard format for the old ToolArmy board was essentially unusable to me. Just an abysmal interface. No hate there, I know...

It was also interesting to read the "Question" from the TA member that stated he was the reason the Message Boards were shut down. If I remember correctly, there were three people involved with screwing over the website at the time. Not sure who this person is and their specific involveme...

Sounds like "Frank" (Chris Leahey - Adam's guitar tech) isn't doing to well, with Facebook reporting he's suffering from almost complete liver failure. The prognosis doesn't appear to be good. Spare a thought for Frank and his family tonight. I saw that. They have taken him off life suppo...

I always liked this painting Adam did and was hoping to see more of these on sale at some point: http://i.imgur.com/5MCnGOv.jpg Also still hoping that one day Adam and Danny create their own TA art pieces similar to Maynard & Justin. It was also interesting to read the "Question" from ...

Only Lovers Left Alive
A Halloween treat: Only Lovers Left Alive . I'm a Jim Jarmusch fan, but was reluctant to watch this as I don't think the world needs any more vampire movies (or zombie either). Definitely enjoyed this one though. In typical Jarmusch fashion, prepare for a casually paced experience. Definitely recomm...

Holy FUCK, Gone Girl is goddamn incredible. One of the most shocking and stunning things Fincher has ever done. Cannot stress enough to stay unspoiled as you can and go in cold. Goddamn. Had you read the book? Just curious if it was the adaptation/execution of the book or the story/plot itself that...

Jenn Ghetto aka "S" "im not as good at it as you": http://jennghetto.bandcamp.com/ Seemingly simple, yet haunting at times...with notes of Elliott Smith. She has a new album out as well ("Cool Choices") which you can still listen to via Soundclound from the Stereogum re...

Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
I'm keen to see The Rover as well, especially now that I have some idea of what the plot is. When I heard this was filming locally and Robert Patterson was in it, I presumed it was some shitty chick flick or rom-com. How wrong I was it appears... I just watched "The Rover" this weekend. I...

so after careful deliberation and repeated listens to all of the records in this thread that I'd not listened to, slacked on for months or didn't already have in my collection, I've finally just said 'fuck it' and made a bulk purchase: Keelhaul Nadja Minnow Locrian Mr. Peter Hayden Yoma Ormen Lange...

Quite relaxing. Soporific drone...although that far-off/subdued screaming from time to time kept me alert. The first one caught me off guard and was a bit unsettling.

This new one feels more gritty, dense and eclectic than "False Idols".hellboy wrote:New Tricky is good so far. Better than the last album that's for sure.
I do like the mellow, laid back vibe that runs through "False Idols" a bit more though.

FE member "cesaro" turned me on to The Trees last year. They've been in regular rotation since. Both "Above the Earth, Below the Sky" and "Red Forest" are great. They're actually putting something new together at the moment. From their Twitter account: https://pbs.twimg...
