Re: Kiss vs Rush - a Fourtheye debate
Rush by miles and miles and miles ... easily ... and I can't even listen to it once the singing starts! Much the same as Hellboy, I'd go see a Rush perform where even if in their prime, Kiss couldn't pay me to be there.

Re: Puscifer New Album discussion thread
Not entirely true ... I still think the original Rev track from Underworld is the shit. I enjoyed "V" for the most part and the "C" EP is quality for sure ... but the remixes, covers and remaining releases do nothing for me.

Re: Puscifer New Album discussion thread
I thought it was ok. It doesn't really build my hype for me about the album, but was enjoyable. Sounds like the album will be more like Conditions Of My Parole than V. It's only 1 track and I've only been through it twice but I get the same feeling ... I'll spin it again a couple times to confirm a...

Great review, Pete. Very well said. I couldn't agree more with pretty much everything you wrote. The middle section with Counterfeit Sky is also my favorite. I definitely heard the QOTSA resemblance after a couple listens. Not just because of Van Leeuwen on some of the reworked tracks, but specific...
Re: Failure
Having listened to this closely up-teen times over the last couple weeks, it's only gotten better ... A bit formulaic in parts, but everything is so well done. The textures and layering of acoustic/electric/electronics are flawless. There are also several sneaky, heavily driven bass lines hidden thr...

Well I went on what seems to have become my bi-annual band camp binge and came away with records from Locrian, Metz, Retox and Harvey Milk, among some others ... Covered about a quarter of my 'Want List' ... still too many records to listen to: Wind hand, Forn, etc., etc.

I have a very hard time understanding why you're not running a VPN in this day and age I have on, I just choose not to turn it on for the most part. Not to mention configure it to point to whatever country I want to pretend I'm actually in a the time. The real point is that bands like Suns of the T...

Sounds like you just described nirvana ... And they were also horrible, no?
Re: Failure
After giving this record a few more listens, I've concluded that it's the best album I have heard this year. I give it a solid 9, just below Fantastic Planet. I agree with all of this A "reunion" album that sounds like they'd never gone away so much as they were before their time by a lon...

I don't want Lateralus 2. Yeah, I don't either. I'd prefer Tool to make a Conditions Of My Parole 2 over a Lateralus 2. I'd prefer to never, ever even hear COMP mentioned or played ever again ... ranks waaaaayyyy up there with that last shithouse NIN record. Both of which I listened too for the fir...

Pretty bummed I'll just miss them ... No band is so sacred they can't be covered. The album, for the most part is a bit pedestrian, but there's a few good tunes there. don't mean it seem sacred by any means ... it's just that in my opinion, nirvana didn't write all that much in the way of challenging tunes, so i like the way they sound...
