Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

I would love to see Tool play 2.5 hour sets, there's so much potential there. But it shouldn't be to cater to the fans. It should be 100% driven by their own incentives. They've earned the right to do shit their way, and that's what made them who they are. If they did a tour in the future where they...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

Wonder if 7empest is going to debut the night they sell Adi Granov's poster. I'd rather hear that than Descending, but I would love to hear that too. Way I see it, it's their art, their call, I can't complain, but it will be kind of shocking if they don't play 7empest on this tour at all, merely bec...

Not releasing lossless with album purchase on the first round was a dumb mistake.
It ain't too late to fix it! Just let everyone reuse their original code and download it one more time.

Re: The Grudge (WARNING: It Hapenned!!)

I've never been too much of a negative nancy and typically don't post in this thread, only time I think was to do with recent presale bs. But seriously Tool, why no FLAC love for those who bought the album first time? It ain't fair that those who bought it off your website get it exclusively and us ...

Re: Tool Streaming/Remastered Versions

I would imagine they mixed up the fills to showcase the live variations, as Danny definitely has shown with Descending that he'll throw in the 'ch-ch-clap's whenever.

And of course they knew the fans would dissect it, too.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Now I'm seeing the press go nuts over Danny's latest statement about making another record in 5 years...it's more believable that they'd start releasing 20 minute singles.

Re: New Album Touring

I just hope all the testosterone in the audience can chill the f out and not go all 2001: Dawn of Man the whole show. One show I had someone randomly scream in my ear like they had no idea how to react to the music, like they were embarrassed to just do nothing. I get it when people sing, but for Go...

Re: New Album Touring

Funny what Maynard said about them playing full albums live on JRE, that Tool albums were never intended to be played in sequence. But with this album you really do get that vibe. Guess we'll find out in October.

Kinda feel they rushed this album.
Agreed, yet that's what I like about it. They finally gave no fucks and just did it. The album's got heart.

But fuck that Tool Army presale non-sense. Gotta put the coin in the Grudge jar.

I honestly don't know what's more shocking: tricking a bunch of people into buying $50 annual memberships, or people buying $500 tickets from a reddit link

I’d buy VIP if I had Tool Army. Once in a lifetime
VIP is great for sure. The main gripe is that for most of these shows you'll be able to get VIP without forking out $50 for TA first.

Also that there aren't regular ticket pre-sales.

Just got my copy in the mail. Record store was supposed to be getting it, but somehow it got shipped to me. It was sitting on my doorstep, which was the very thing I wanted to avoid. At least I got it a day early! Tried downloading the segues but I guess it won't go live until midnight. It was askin...

Re: Fear Inoculum with SPOILERS

The beginning/ending of 7empest sounds a whole lot like "Frame By Frame" off King Crimson's "Discipline", one of Danny's favorite albums. If it's not a conscious tribute/citation, he must at least have rubber-stamped it during songwriting. Rosetta definitely has some Thela Hun moments. Yeah, I real...

Re: Fear Inoculum with SPOILERS

Top notch, first listen was great. It's their slowest and most ethereal record, but in the best possible ways. It's their shiniest album, but it fucking sludges and spins. Maynard's delivery is perfect, plus the band's aggressiveness they practically scream for him, you don't miss the screams. Not t...

Re: Fear Inoculum with SPOILERS

The “autotune” to start the third act of Invincible resonates with me the same as the Grudge scream. I’m dumb and not sure how else to describe it. Beautiful, harrowing, impactful. I say that to say the album is reflective, immersive, introspective, and woven. Emotional yet subtle and layered. I’ll...
