Re: 7empest

The Tempest isn't an evil force. It is a natural reaction to unchecked 'negativity' of sorts. The songs starts out pointed at a generic idol of corruption, docuhbagery, malevolence etc, but the song steps backwards to discuss the meaning of this kind of behavior going on unchecked, personally and i...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Tool HD audio already exists as a one time purchase and in higher quality than what Amazon is offering for a monthly fee.

EDIT: Falsely reported on tardit as 48kHz. It is 96kHz same as the retail release, but you still have to pay monthly.

Re: Descending

So I’m hearing an extra note (or something) during the Pre-chorus riff when Adam is doing a couple pull-offs. It’s the same riff the whole time but at 6:08 right after Maynard sings “grand finale” I’m hearing what sounds like a hammer-on then to the pull-offs. Yea, he throws in a variation where he...

Re: New Album Touring

Wasn't there a song where Nard would hold something like a keytar and no one knew what he was actually doing? Yea, a bass on Schism and DRT. He was playing unpleasant harmony during the guitar solo of Reflection and some sort of drone note of the chorus of Schism. I would imagine there is more, but...

Re: New Album Touring

Even with a looper, there ends up being 3 guitar tracks before the bass kicks in, one of which mirrors the bass' first riff at one point.. I do wonder if Justin is playing on the album. To bad reporters don't actually discuss the music ever

Re: New Album Touring

I think they should do at least one Opiate or Undertow song each night, but with the new album they may not even be able to do one from every previous album. I would think at the very least that should be possible. Especially if they don't play every single song from Fear Inoculum every night and i...

Re: New Album Touring

This is definitely the most cohesive album they've done. I can’t be bothered going back to check, but seems like you’ve evolved quite a bit from your first impressions of FI? I approach things generally with my smock and goggles on, ready for the shit most things tend to be. When things turn out to...

Re: Fear Inoculum

This! From my research, it looks like there are actually 3 variants. I've purchased four copies in search of all of them, but just can't find the third variant or the one that's labeled as variant "C" also known as the fractal. I have the variants "A" and "B". I haven't received my fourth one yet, ...

Re: New Album Touring

Adam basically said they were doing Tempest on the Jericho podcast. Why wound you want Tempest as an opener? That kills the feel of the track. Same goes for Third Eye openings.

Re: Fear Inoculum

I tried running Invincible through a limiter, but like I thought, the actual file they put out is leveled well and such, the distortion occurs in the mix below the main channel. Perhaps its only on the bass track, I don't know. I highly doubt this was intended for effect. Maybe they made a trade of...
