Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I'm just happy that Tool is finally playing a show in Hershey, PA---20 minutes from where I live! I haven't seen them live since 2006. Jesus I'm old.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Justin seems like a good dude. I like him, and I think he seems genuine. Thanks for sharing.

Also, I wish Ernie Ball would pay me to go on walks and play guitar on camera. That is a job I could handle.

Shit, Justin looks old. They better get a move-on before another band member breaks a hip or goes into the early stages of dementia.

Original post. The worst thing about the 10 year wait is that the Tool trolls have run out of material.

Re: The Grudge (WARNING: Ten Years, Shmen Years)

JUNE 2029 NEWSLETTER After mirror-gazing for hours on end, I met a hyperdimensional being named Zorbis who granted me a brand-new silver Coleman to hold all of the beer that the band drinks while not writing in the Loft. Oh, I also have some Aleister Crowley books for sale. What's that? You'd like m...

Re: Maynard James Keenan

I'm actually really looking forward to this. I've always been curious about his military-to-pet-shop days, as well as his artistic influences. For all of his recent interviewing, he's still pretty enigmatic.

Tool V --------> Volto

Mystery solved
Our answer's been at The Baked Potato every Monday night, right under our noses! Or in my case, 3,000 miles away.

Re: What are you watching? Film/TV

I just watched The Forbidden Room. I'm not really sure what the hell it was that I saw, but I know that a woodsman somehow wound up in a submarine, where an old man told stories about Aswang Bananas and man-eating volcanoes... or maybe I accidentally ingested some LSD?

Re: The Grudge (WARNING: Ten Years, Shmen Years)

I'm more irked that the band has put forth effort into selling a bunch of new "merch" instead of creating SOMETHING new for the fans. I understand that there were legal issues involved in slowing up the recording process, but good lord, The Beatles had started, changed rock and roll foreve...

If David Attenborough did a voiceover for each track on the new Tool album, I could maybe fall asleep to it.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Toolband's News Page is displaying the following: "Parse error: parse error, unexpected '<' in http://207.7.138.58/toolband/tb_news.html on line 80"

It is either a bug (pun intended), or perhaps the most coherent thing Blair has ever posted. Discuss.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

February Newsletter is posted. It has a lot to do with bugs and an arrangement of a "particular song" that pushes sonic boundaries. Don't expect anything more specific than that, although Rance Q. Spartley comes up again.

Re: David Bowie's Blackstar Album

I agree with petemasterpete wholeheartedly. I don't think I've felt this kind of sadness with an artist's death, even when Lou Reed died (and that was sad for me). I guess we didn't see it coming, and he had just put out this excellent album, so it seemed like more was on the way. But nope.

David Bowie's Blackstar Album

David Bowie's new album is UNBELIEVABLY fucking good. It doesn't matter if you like/have liked Bowie in the past. It's deliciously strange, layered, textured, dark and twisted. I love it. What do you folks think of it? Too bad the best album poll was for 2015. This will be on my list for 2016, no do...
