Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I was massive fan of deloused in crematorium and thats when I saw em on the BDO side stage in 2004 . I think it was like a 45 minute set so they played all of two, maybe 3 songs . I loved it but each album thereafter I lost interest and I imagine a full show wouldnt have been as impressive for me.

Re: Tool Oz + NZ Feb 2020 Tour discussion

Absolute bloody pleasure meeting ya bro and cheers for the write up. Have to agree about Melbourne. If that's what their crowds are always like, I may stick to avoiding it where possible. On a positive they seemed respectful and all that which is great but yeah... atmosphere was pretty non existent....

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

yeah I'd agree these were the best I've seen since 02 & 01 but they still owned this tour for mine. Obviously the production wasn't close to where it is now but just the delivery of the songs when they were at that age to now is incomparable to me. Lateralus tour was next level incredible for me.

Also the band are in high fucking spirits, in all the shows I seen these were the best.
Better than 02?? The years lapsed have possibly clouded your judgement. They were in good spirits, tight and the production was incredible but 02 was up there as their as their peak. No comparison for mine.

Re: Live Shows, Tours, etc.

It's a tough one - there's a crazy amount of shows on in April and May. I can almost hear the promoter tears right now "no one ever goes to shows in Adelaide". the reality is we do, but when you put them all on in the same two months, most can't afford the time or money. Still, Dream Theatre blow, ...

Re: Tool Oz + NZ Feb 2020 Tour discussion

Can't say I loved night 1 mate. Total chalk n cheese to night two for me. Standing in ga with front view, provided such a difference in clarity for the sound. And to see the screens you couldn't really watch the band at the same time. Was an amazing Danny, Justin view but honestly for a band like to...

Re: Tool Oz + NZ Feb 2020 Tour discussion

Random thoughts. Pneuma and Invincible were definite highlights of the new tracks for me. Curtain opening at the.end of parabola was a really nice touch. Vicarious Maynard might as well not even bother singing, he truly doesn't seem to care about that song to me. 7empest sounded flawless to my ears....

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I thought the way had parabola opening up the curtains at the outro was a solid touch. Made perfect sense to have the song in that slot for that reason for me. Also after seeing parabola on its own on night 1 and then the parabol intro night 2 , I don't think they should play it all without parabol....

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

On paper stinkfist sounds like a lousy closer but I remember in 2013 thinking it was a logical and sensible closer. Kinda feel the same with Metallica finishing with enter sandman. Lateralus will always be my preferred closer... Aenima was a great finish too. Not that I've seen it live but descendin...
