Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Busty I'd rather hear Descending instead of Lateralus right now... I'm sure you agree. I didn't see the 'play Prison Sex twice' suggestion coming though so well done on that one Tyson. Schism with the extended middle part is really solid stuff, and Justin's little telling the crowd to be quiet befor...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Hey, random TOOL question for all of you. Which track from Fear Inoculum do you think will become a staple in their live shows for the next 10 years? Let's say the band stay together making music, maybe one more album in a few years, and keep playing live shows until 2030. I'm thinking of tracks lik...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
We had ZERO cases of locally acquired Covid in New South Wales on Wednesday and police are now giving out $200 fines to people who don't wear masks on public transport or in shopping centres... BUT then you read about what's happening in Washington and it changes your perspective.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
What exactly are you right about? Has the band confirmed any of your theories here? Have you heard from Adam, Maynard, Danny or Justin to say "Well done!" and "You've cracked this puzzle!" etc.? If you've been sitting on this since February 2020, then you have been delusional for nearly a full year....

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Someone who has no clue about any of this, with the arrogance of someone that does and opinions that only downplay the effort Tool made in the structuring of this album doesn't bother me at all, it only strengthens the unfortunate realization that Tool is about a thousand miles above the heads of 9...

Yes it does have relevance. You are just making shit up to fit your narrative.
Please DO NOT make a 2nd or 3rd video with all of your leftover content... unless you want to be critiqued even further.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Oh boy. So now we have the first 7 primes, namely 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 and 17 adding up to 58 as being just another 'example' of the band contributing something cool here? I don't think so. That is you trying to draw meaning out of something that is pretty much nothing. Danny being at the end of his s...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
^^ So would you change your mind completely if someone like Adam Jones or Maynard wrote to you and said "Sorry mate but most of what you have included in your video is just pure coincidence at best" etc.? I saw Adam Jones do that to a fan face to face and the poor kid was pretty disappointed to hear...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Also, you're now mentioning 58 as having "central and enormous importance" to the concept/structure of the album. I think that is stretching too far. Danny Carey was 58 when the album came out like you said in your video... but the band didn't deliberately choose to wait for Danny to be 58 years old...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Exactly. I brought up 764 seconds. I never said anything about 7 + 6 + 4 = 17. You were the one who took my 764 contribution and pointed out the 7 + 6 + 4 thing. You are delusional. If Adam Jones was available right now, he'd stop you and say "Yeah, I'm sorry but..." You should have presented your v...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Yeah but I was the one who brought up 764 seconds in my posts and now YOU are using the number I introduced to confirm your bias here. Saying 764 is important because 7 + 6 + 4 = 17 is a classic example of confirmation bias; you are looking for things to fit your prior beliefs. There is no way the b...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Okay, I get all of that, but I still think the 12 + 44 = 56 thing is too much of a stretch or jump here. I don't think the band would deliberately make the track run to 12 mins 44 seconds just so they could have 12 + 44 = 56 and think it was cool. In fact, even if you are correct and they deliberate...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Thanks for taking the time and effort to respond constructively to the issues I raised in my post. From a different perspective, their music and everything they do is a form of ART so you can interpret it however you like etc. I just think you are stretching too far with some of the references you h...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
ToolArchive, I appreciate that you put a LOT of effort into creating that video but it's bordering on delusional if you believe the band would deliberately include all of the stuff you have mentioned. Let me point out a few issues: 1) At one of the VIP sessions Adam Jones did back in 2013, a fan ask...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
All the pi shit he goes on about at the 5 minute mark is bullshit. He even says 22/8 and then has 22/7 just after. During every bar of 22, Adam and Justin play 16 notes each. Pi being the 16th letter of the alphabet? Who fucking cares. There is no way a band would deliberately incorporate that into ...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
"7 can be divisioned into 3 and 4" So, firstly, I'm not sure 'divisioned' is even a word, I think he means divided or partitioned. So he's basically saying that "7 equals 3 plus 4" which, as great as TOOL are, I don't think they are capable of making this sort of complex reference in their art... :|...

Thanks Junior!
I was kinda expacting 7empest to be your answer and I was there when they debuted in Sydney. It does seem tough to play live.
Thanks for the update.
Cheers

I think Busty is talking about the song Lateralus here Junior, possibly in a provocative manner.
From what you've seen though, which song do you reckon was the hardest for the band to put together?

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I hope this downtime allows them to build upon all the riffs and jams they didn't end up using for Fear Inoculum. Take the best stuff they were working on and add in all the new stuff they might be able to create if they aren't touring right now. However, I'm not expecting a new album until at least...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Third Eye is a great opening song. Flood is good too. Flood into The Grudge back in the Lateralus tour days 2001/2002 was awesome. Fear Inoculum is a solid opening song on this tour though; I love it.
