Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

those aenima demos have been around for a long time. if you want to impress me show me the Lateralus demos that leaked sometime last year. pretty hard to come by as far as i know. Who do you have to blow to get those? I haven’t come by the Aenima demos in this quality before so it was a nice upgrad...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I don't know if this is the right thread, but someone posted some interesting recordings over at Reddit, namely a definite upgrade on the Undertow outtakes and Ænima demos (lower generation) and rough mixes of Ænema including a second, unreleased "version" of L.A.M.C. The recordings are a...

Re: The Grudge (WARNING: It Hapenned!!)

Descending is my least favourite track on the record as well. I think it's a great track, amazing live, but the studio version doesn't hit as hard. Partly because I think it's a song that is hard to capture in studio and partly because of some production choices I don't really like.

Re: Question about Aenima bass credits

I remember seeing in some kind of music database (the official American one, I believe) years ago when that stuff was public (maybe it still is - someone has to help me with that) that Paul is credited for Stinkfist, Eulogy, H., Pushit and Ænema. The rest of the songs are credited to Justin. All exc...

Re: Fear Inoculum Australia

Last I checked many Polish stores, including online stores, have tons of stock left. The CD is quite expensive though (85-90 euros). Still, it’s cheaper than Ebay if anyone is still looking for a copy.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

The Rammstein 14xLP box was like 300 euros I think, can't think of any other bands to compare to.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

It could very well be that the vinyl box set contains 5 albums, not 5 LPs. I think I've heard 3xLP, 4xLP with laser etchings and stuff and now 5xLP, so we have no actual idea at this point.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

So according to this and my extremely poor German we can expect a 5xLP Fear Inoculum release in December:

It's going to be an expensive Christmas.

Re: Fear Inoculum Australia

yeah. I mean it's still "cheap", given the fact that I only paid 37 USD for the amazon order some EU retailers charge 100 euros and more for the CD If you paid the import tax deposit through Amazon, my understanding is that you shouldn't be charged for customs and VAT a second time since ...

Re: Culling Voices

The first 4 minutes remind me of Riverside or Mariusz Duda in his solo project. Not as much the music itself but the eerie, kind of Chopin-esque melancholic aura it has.

Re: Fear Inoculum (track)

I see people considering this as one of the weakest tracks, no idea why as it's one of my favourites. It's the track, besides maybe Culling Voices, that sounds the least like the Tool we all know and I love it. Best chorus on the album as well.

Re: Pneuma

The main riff is very similar to the Schism bridge riff (cold silence has a tendency to...). Other than that, not really. It doesn't bother me at all anymore. I don't hear the The Patient similarities, maybe in the song structure.

Re: Fear Inoculum with SPOILERS

So, has anyone figured out how to rip "Recusant ad Infinitum" (the audio playing on the video screen in the packaging) properly? I guess that should also be considered as one of the segue tracks of this album, even though it's not on the album per se. It sounds like a cool little soundscap...

Re: Mockingbeat

Well, it's the funniest of the interludes (the other ones are mostly creepy). I enjoyed it quite a bit. It might be the one I end up liking the most of their weird album-ending seagues, as I can't remember when I listened to Viginti Tres last and I rarely bother waiting the 2 minutes for Faaip de O...

Re: Pneuma

I definitely hear the similarity and it kind of took overhand when I first listened to Pneuma. I now think it might be the best track on this album (but it's really hard to pick a favourite...). It's better than Schism. There, I said it!

Re: Fear Inoculum with SPOLIERS

I'm blown away on first listen. I really like some of the production choices, especially on Descending. Lustmord's waves complete the track rather nicely, especially as the intro in the live version started a bit abruptly. Pneuma's main riff threw me off initially as it reminded me of one of the Sch...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

So did they actually cover Ministry’s Thieves or just played the song on the PA system? Btw, i’m feeling like the band are tighter than ever and enjoying themselves. They seem really excited for the upcoming release, which is a given but still i had to mention it. They played it over the PA as we w...
