Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

Been waiting for this! A proper event imo. Pretty honorable first time effort at the song I thought. I feel the whole middle solo could be more of a freeform thing night to night, with Adam expanding and contracting the parts based on his mood haha. Might be less pressure that way. That drum/bass gr...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

King Crimson in recent years... two sets of close to 1.5hrs of damn demanding music. And Fripp is old as fuck!

Not slagging the Tool dudes, just sayin'. I haven't seen them since '06, so will gladly take anything they serve up, if they ever play Oahu.

a little intermission from fear inoculun
Yes! I've been enjoying these as well, so fun. It's heartwarming to know once Tool is done and dusted, DC will still be grooving endlessly with talented musos in cramped jazz spaces.

Re: The Grudge (WARNING: It Hapenned!!)

Two cents no one asked for... Tool ceased breaking molds and really exploring new forms after the D/R/T crossroads, in my lame opinion. I always fantasized they would have taken what was synthezied there and turn it inside out, ditching everything they accomplished prior, not looking back and becomi...

Re: 7empest

Nice catch, will have to listen for that. This is the shortest 15min song I've ever heard. Watershed track imo, so much of their history packed in there. Anyone else hear the languid refrain Justin is playing towards the end as a callback to the heavy main riff in Pneuma? Similar but simplied? He me...

Re: Fear Inoculum with SPOILERS

I actually had an initial thought to want Culling Voices to stay on the quieter side and go really spacey/weird, like Eno on acid, rather than loud. If I had any remixing skills, as a lark I might've tried messing with it for fun. Am I cancelled? Still like the track though, could end up being a fav...

Re: Fear Inoculum

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtGfbgIubyc&t=435s There was this slow guitar play by Adam right before Vicarious (starts around 06:10), ToolArchive also used it for his New Album Update video series. I expected it to be on Fear Inoculum, but I just couldn't find it. Could this be one of the ot...

Re: Fear Inoculum with SPOILERS

In The Court Of.., Larks Tongue in Aspic, Red, Discipline, Thrak, Power To Believe That’s a great list, but be sure to check out their live album “USA” from the Bruford/Wetton era... You can feel the similarities of “live electricity” between KC and Tool on that album. Polyrhythms, muscular bass li...

Re: Fear Inoculum with SPOILERS

And the fans rejoice! Nice to see people are stoked bc this is QUITE a piece of work. Super impressive the band saw this thing through, the discipline holy holy. Just a couple listens, but this f---ker flows, stately bordering on luxurious. The music plays them at points. But 7empest? There's no way...

Re: Tool - is this their last album?

I'm counting on a few live albums, or even a dozen or two or three box sets full of live recordings and all sorts of other bonus material that good be in the vault. I would rather have that than any dumb new album. Live is where the real magic is at for me... that said... can Fear Incorporated leak...

I like it. What size was it?

Welcome
Hello! That was a cropped close up shot, here's a not too good picture of the whole thing... maybe around 50" x 70"?

Definitely wouldn't mind having it on my wall.

https://i.imgur.com/TodvCh0_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium Kinda a lame reddit type post here, but I'm just too amped on the album not to share. I saw this at the Honolulu Museum of Art over the weekend, from a 20th century Japanese monochromatic print exhibit. Like a dummy ...
