Re: Cinquanta Night 1 Review - APC/Failure/Puscifer/Danny&Ju

Thanks again for all your input, it's really apprecited. HOWEVER The real question that remains to be answered is HOW MANY 'JUNIORS' WERE SUBSTITUTED THAT NIGHT FOR ACTUAL LYRICS???!? YOUR JUNNNNIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRR IS SLIPPIN DOWNNNNNN TO CHOKE YOU NOW!!! I didn't notice. Did that happen this we...

Re: Cinquanta Night 1 Review - APC/Failure/Puscifer/Danny&Ju

I would call it more of an "interpretation" of Sober. I think Danny and Justin were being kinda loose about it. Justin was playing through Puscifer's bass rig, though he had his own bass guitar, so his sound was a little different than normal. They'd also been hanging out for a few hours getting "lo...

Zac Rae, from the band "Early Winters" played a distorted keyboard part during "Sober". There was no actual guitarist for that performance.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Sounds bogus to me. Sounds bogus that the band as a whole would listen to the music they have created so far?? They're on tour together for a start. Sounds reasonable to me. :| That part isn't that far-fetched. The part that sounded bogus to me is that a promoter rep would know about it and also kn...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

"Tour Promoters" aren't that close to the band that they would be privy to that kind of information. Promoters (in the US) are local or regional. On the most recent tour, I can only think of 1 promoter rep who did more than one of the shows, and he did 2 of them, not several.
Sounds bogus to me.

Re: How many times TOOL songs have been played

Junior, would you be able to inform us what infact the 'electrical sound' played in the example of the video actually is? I have no idea what a 5' Jacob's Ladder is. Many thanks! A Jacob's Ladder is an electrical device made from a transformer (often from a neon sign) and 2 metal rods. Rising arcs ...

Re: How many times TOOL songs have been played

I do expect some inaccuracies, as I am pretty sure (-)Ions has been played a ton more than 101 times. I'm not trying to start anything, just offering an opinion. I'm fairly sure it's never been played, and If it was it would probably have been only once or twice, and I've forgotten it happened. Dan...

Re: General Tour Discussion Thread

Gross Sales is completely different than Net Sales. How much did the venues cost to rent? What about the gas that goes in the trucks that carry the equiptment? Or the trucks themselves? Hotel rooms? Catering? You can't look at Gross Sales and divide it by 4. They used at least 4 semi trucks and 6 t...

Re: Puscifer @ Cumbre Tajin Festival - 21 March, 2014

I'm pretty sure it was Juliette Commagere (might have spelled that wrong). She was previously a back up singer only (in Puscifer). Yes, that was Juliette. She was the original live female vocalist before Carina, and also was in the Coachella version of the band last year. Josh Eustis, who had been ...

"my god, that looks like Kirk Covington." Capt. Kirk is a machine on the drums and quite a good keyboardist as well. Very cool. @ Rothric - Good read. Kirk is a monster drummer. Every instrument I've heard him play (including voice) he excels at. I can only assume he excels at every instrument. The...

Re: General Tour Discussion Thread

I think it's chosen mostly because it suits the confetti a little better (I'm no huge fan of the confetti either) Have there been any give-aways in the confetti this tour? No give-aways, but there have been hand-written words on some of the pieces. Might do a "golden ticket" setlist piece amongst t...

Re: Tool - 16 March 2014 - Valley View Casino, San Diego, CA

That's really interesting info, and it makes sense about the shared concert/sporting events arena shows. The sound in SF was excellent. I have seen probably dozens of shows at BGC over the years and can't think of a bad night sound wise. On the other hand, I've seen even more shows at The Fox in Oa...

Re: Tool - 16 March 2014 - Valley View Casino, San Diego, CA

I've seen a handful of shows at Valley View in the past, but try to avoid it due to the horrible quality of the sound. That said, since the casino took over management they have definitely upgraded the speakers in that place because the show tonight was probably the best I have ever heard at a Tool...

Re: General Tour Discussion Thread

What exactly does "archival purposes" mean? Meaning they want a copy of it for several non-commercial reasons. If something happens during a show that they want to take a look at, there's their copy. Maybe years from now they'll want to look at something they were doing on stage that they can't rem...

Re: General Tour Discussion Thread

This is totally off the wall but whatever. Is it possible that Tool goes into a concert practiced up on 15 songs or something and then they kinda wing it on a few sections. Let Maynard see how he's feeling, Adam starts playing a riff and then that's the song they play? I might have done a bad job e...

Re: General Tour Discussion Thread

Junior, I know your not "in the band", but do you have any in sight as to why they were not happy with the stuff they recorded in 2002? And do you know if they've filmed anything in the past few years on these tours?? I can't comment on the 2002 recordings. What I saw looked good to me. I don't ant...

Re: General Tour Discussion Thread

Interesting to read that both Adam and Justin seem to have different guitar techs this time around. Aaron Harris is doing Danny as well, so none of the three seem to have their "regular" techs working with them. Will Maynard still be able to Schleyer? It's really all about availability, and a "last...

Technically a Dodgers towel, presented by Pizza Hut.

It was a giveaway item at a Dodger game last year.
