Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

They played Merkaba tonight and earlier someone posted a pic from setlistfm ''some older song'' haah During the pre-Vicarious noodling, Danny played the "some kind of psychedelic experience" sample and played along with it for (at most) 20-30 seconds in a way that was reminiscent of Merkaba (simila...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

More a question for Junior I guess but do we always get the full Tool set up here in Oz due to the logistics? Historically, it had always been difficult to get at least some portion of the show there. It's a mix of what can be shipped vs. what can be sourced locally, balanced with how long they are...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

Howdy Junior, hope you’re feeling better and enjoying Tulsa (? heh). You guys pack up and hit the road right away for Milwaukee? Just wondering since there’s some ugly weather coming about. Ugh. I think Tool has only played Milwaukee one time (July 2007) and really looking forward to be able to wak...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

Question for you junior on the screen that goes around the stage for parts of the show. It would periodically have some really cool lightening/electrical effects on it that appeared to be generated on the screen. Does it have LED's in it or was it laser effects projected on it? It's only a projecti...

Weird. Here smoking isn't allowed inside. This includes smoking weed.
It's not allowed here, either.
People seem to think it doesn't apply to them.

Doesn't Maynard have a spare gas mask lying around you can borrow?
If I don't find a solution I might have to quit touring.

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

Can I offer an alternative to the sick/allergy thing? It's got something do with the fogger machines. I have a head cold that kicked in yesterday something fierce after a few days of feeling a little under weather. I was in the front row night 2 at Staples and one of the foggers tipped over and bla...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

Must be nice to have that extra space to set up all the gear with the new riser. If you didn't see my comment in the Tour thread, what you did with Pneuma in Los Angeles was incredible. Bravo man. And, seeing you crack open that can of Guinness (despite being sick) after the Sunday night show was a...

Vacuum guy must have a lot harder job with all that carpet vs a few rugs.
The main grey area is actually Marley, which gets mopped.
Maynard's risers have grey carpet, though, so Vacuum guy still has a job.

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

Yeah, he's had a transparent one since 2006 (I don't think he had one in 2002. Could be wrong). There've been a few shows here and there in the past 13 years with a "normal" one, but only because of shipping schedules and stuff. This one is new for this tour, though. 2' taller and (I think) 2' wide...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

When I saw Iron Maiden back in 2007 (for the first time), they played their brand new album all the way through then did an encore with the hits. Didn't bother me at all. I saw that tour, as well. I can admire what they did there, but as more of a fan of their older stuff I was a little lost during...

Hey junior as an industry insider did you ever have much to do with AJ Maddah? Is he a pariah now in the music industry? Understand if you don't want to gossip like a Liz or Busty. Knew of him, but can't say I know him. Might have met once or twice, but don't recall. There's usually a level or 2 of...

Australian's stealing American's jobs, deplorable.
We've got loads of Aussies, now.
2 of the video crew and 1 of the sound crew, as well.

3 Canadians and 2 ex-Canadians.
3 from the UK, and 1 Belgian.

So international, we are.

This was great; written about Blair, in his own style.
In retrospect, I should have redacted some names to make it more cryptic.
Also, the tangents weren't far enough off the path.
I was in a hurry to get somewhere, so I kept it brief.
