Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Would it be unusual for Tool to book only three festival dates in the Eastern US with roughly a week between the shows without adding additional dates? And then, of course, heading overseas. Seems like it wouldn't be very efficient way to start their touring - not that efficiency is always the most...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I wonder if the the the new record will have an instrumental track? That could further explain why Maynard isn't completely certain the "inst" are tracked. Seems like an instrumental track would be the lowest priority to finish, since Maynard would be needed for all the tracks with vocals ...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Would it be reasonable to assume that more dates could be added to the Eastern US tour? I suppose the already-announced festivals have proximity restrictions and other rules regarding when bands can promote/disclose other planned shows.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Yeah, they've never taken this long before in the studio. I was always under the impression they worked up the material until it was note perfect, took it to the studio, banged it out and three months later it was recorded, mixed and mastered. It's now been eight months in the studio and as far as ...

Would anyone here going to one of the early clinics care to commit to writing a review, with special attention to any updates on the new album?

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

When exactly did Tool start and end the studio recording process for 10,000 Days? (sometime late 2005 if my memory is right) How long after the 10,000 Days recording process was complete was the album released? (released late April, right?) Just curious about the timeline from their most recent albu...

Re: Ratndom Tool Social Media thread

"Rehearsal'' by definition would imply practice for an upcoming performance, though that doesn't appear to be possible since APC is just starting a tour.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Of the Tool cover/tribute bands, which ones do the best job (or, at least, are better than the others)? There's one scheduled to play where I live, and it made me wonder if there's any particular band that's more respected. A quick Google search picked up on three cover bands, though I imagine there...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I'm not overly excited yet - this doesn't really show any progress further than I expect and we're still a long way off. My news was unrelated to Maynard though, and I still can't/won't say anything about it (I'm not sure that I ever will). "(I'm not sure that I ever will)". As in, even a...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

A quick thought experiment: Imagine for a moment a hypothetical scenario where 10,000 Days was released as the DEBUT album by some other band (and Tool did not exist). How would this change the perception of the record? I have my own thoughts about this, though I'd prefer to hear yours without sugge...

mjk. He's been involved on the outside, but I would bet he's there now to add vocals (officially) and request tweeks to the instrumentation so his vocals can merge to his liking.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Blair sent me an email indicating that the term "Change Up" is more significant to the bands future plans than "Curve Ball". He seemed to suggest that the use of the word "Curve Ball" in the recent newsletter was a misnomer (BMB has used both terms in recent newsletters...

<t>Look at the Feb 2012 Newsletter - he mentioned this same holiday in that newsletter as well.
