Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
2001 was a great tour. in ways it was the end of the old tool sort of. in 2002 things changed. Definitely. For starters, Lateralus was the end of smaller venues, but more to the point, the live show introduced a lot more of the theatrics, lighting etc that weren't part of the show prior. The Aenima...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
If I may ask, who controls the tool logo behind the band? That thing came to life during the show and it was amazing to see! I control the lights that are mounted to it, but our automation guy (Fred) controls the movement of the star itself, and Scott (lasers) traces it with laser effects now and a...

I don't always pay attention to soundcheck, but I'm always in the building during it.

Re: General Tour Discussion Thread
My idea of what a VIP could/should entail: Free/VIP parking if the venue demands it On arrival guests are taken to a suite, where there are chairs, food and a bar (make it no booze if you're worried about people getting hammered). Any downtime should be spent here (we all understand that touring sc...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
They played Merkaba tonight and earlier someone posted a pic from setlistfm ''some older song'' haah During the pre-Vicarious noodling, Danny played the "some kind of psychedelic experience" sample and played along with it for (at most) 20-30 seconds in a way that was reminiscent of Merka...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
More a question for Junior I guess but do we always get the full Tool set up here in Oz due to the logistics? Historically, it had always been difficult to get at least some portion of the show there. It's a mix of what can be shipped vs. what can be sourced locally, balanced with how long they are...

Howdy Junior, hope you’re feeling better and enjoying Tulsa (? heh). You guys pack up and hit the road right away for Milwaukee? Just wondering since there’s some ugly weather coming about. Ugh. I think Tool has only played Milwaukee one time (July 2007) and really looking forward to be able to wak...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
Question for you junior on the screen that goes around the stage for parts of the show. It would periodically have some really cool lightening/electrical effects on it that appeared to be generated on the screen. Does it have LED's in it or was it laser effects projected on it? It's only a projecti...

Can I offer an alternative to the sick/allergy thing? It's got something do with the fogger machines. I have a head cold that kicked in yesterday something fierce after a few days of feeling a little under weather. I was in the front row night 2 at Staples and one of the foggers tipped over and bla...

Must be nice to have that extra space to set up all the gear with the new riser. If you didn't see my comment in the Tour thread, what you did with Pneuma in Los Angeles was incredible. Bravo man. The main grey area is actually Marley, which gets mopped.MobileVortex wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 12:51 pm Vacuum guy must have a lot harder job with all that carpet vs a few rugs.
Maynard's risers have grey carpet, though, so Vacuum guy still has a job.

Yeah, he's had a transparent one since 2006 (I don't think he had one in 2002. Could be wrong). There've been a few shows here and there in the past 13 years with a "normal" one, but only because of shipping schedules and stuff. This one is new for this tour, though. 2' taller and (I thin...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
When I saw Iron Maiden back in 2007 (for the first time), they played their brand new album all the way through then did an encore with the hits. Didn't bother me at all. I saw that tour, as well. I can admire what they did there, but as more of a fan of their older stuff I was a little lost during...

I read on the Echoing the Sound message board that there were speakers all over the arena, kind of like what Roger Waters does, Junior, can you confirm this? Hey junior as an industry insider did you ever have much to do with AJ Maddah? Is he a pariah now in the music industry? Understand if you don't want to gossip like a Liz or Busty. Knew of him, but can't say I know him. Might have met once or twice, but don't recall. There's usually a level or 2 of...
