Maybe I'll go and interview one of these new parking bollards myself and let you know if they have anything else interesting to share.

(NOTE: This newsletter is a work in progress. CHECK BACK for UPDATES). July 29... and still haven't seen any of those June newsletter updates. Guess it's hard to provide updates when there is likely no progress being made on anything by this band. I see Maynard and Danny working (on things other th...

I'm really enjoying this new track and definitely looking forward to the new album as well. Not entirely sure about some sections, but here's what I've got so far: Oh lost as I may be Oh in the fog of my own noise and triviality Grand holy mother grant me clarity I am standing on the edge of forever...

Even I was moved by the end. And it really takes a lot for a film to move me. No surprises there.

8/10
Watched it last night. A really good movie indeed. Thanks again for the recommendation.

Yeah, I agree. I think the action scenes are going to be great, and I'm really hoping the Lex Luther character brings some levity to it all.

That tune is from the new album, which they played straight through last night. That was by far the best track IMO. Guthrie Govan is one of the most interesting and technically proficient guitarists on the planet. Great (if disturbing) back story too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kentucky_meat_sho...

Re: Star Wars Hype Train

I find it hard personally to render judgement on a film that hasn't even started production yet. Admittedly, I am very critical of movies before, during, and after their production: a true film snob. It's actually part of how I enjoy them though. I realize I'm biased when it comes to the original S...

Yeah, there's really nothing about a Han Solo prequel that sounds like a good idea. I wish they'd leave the original trilogy and characters alone and just focus on new stories.

Arcadia was the first episode I ever watched. I caught it on Sci-Fi one night at like one in the morning. Darkness Falls from the first season was definitely the first episode I ever saw, followed by Drive and then Arcadia. I remember Arcadia reminding me a lot of a Twilight Zone episode, which I l...

I got to see The Appleseed Cast at The Echo last night. They're on tour playing the entirety of "Mare Vitalis", marking it's 15th anniversary. They've got a few more dates left on the tour, and they're definitely worth checking out: 07/06 – Santa Ana, CA @ Constellation Room 07/07 – San Fr...

Gaspar Noe's "Enter the Void" - This movie was a trip. I don't think I'll ever watch it again and it's definitely not a casual recommendation, but I'm glad I saw it. Watching it felt like a bit of a commitment. I was a fan of "Irreversible," and that one's was a difficult to get ...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I dont think they would ever release a sub-par album of jams or cut songs just to fulfill their contract, and then go out on their own and release the good stuff.... just not like them to do that. I agree with the part about never intentionally releasing an album they aren't 100% behind, but...ther...

Re: Movie/TV News

They were both ok in parts. I preferred Salvation - I thought it had an interesting story and spin on the whole Skynet thing, but was just lacking in execution. Lacking in execution is right: I recall a scene in a dilapidated gas station along a barren highway where the characters step outside to f...

Yeah, there was nothing in the trailers that looked promising.

I recall the prior one, Salvation, being quite a mess as well.

Although, there were moments in Rise of the Machines that I enjoyed.
