Re: The Machine - Solar Corona

Sweet jams for my biscuit ears! X and Moons of Neptune were my standouts. Great bass and guitar interplay. Yum 7.5/10

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Shit. Traveling this week with only iOS devices. The vid requires Flash, so I'm SOL until I get back. If anybody has an alternate link (nothing on YT so far) please post. On the other hand, Big Sur and the Nor Cal coast are amazing as ever. Killer trip so far. It worked on my iPhone. I forgot how I...

Re: Album of the Week - CVI - Royal Thunder

The first few tracks were ok, but I thought it picked up nicely toward the end. Sure, maybe there's a lot of cliches here but there's a few standout moments I thought were pretty good. Blue is a great track. 7/10

Re: New TooL album release date COMPETITION!

Well, I guess I'm out of the run. Pity cause I think I could put in a good guess now. I'm pretty sure that curveball is going to be some new album info if not a release date, or at least the Salivalish thing. A lot of releases this year have been announced out of the blue and within a month or so of...

Re: Album of the Week - Frank Zappa - Apostrophe / Overnight

First time I've gotten around to listening to these, great pick Kit. I've always loved Zappa, but have taken my sweet time going through his catalog since it's so vast. Montana's a great way to close an album. And if these two being sold as one wasn't enough for some of you, most of the tracks on bo...

<t>Kittaan said <br/> <br/> <br/> @ LimeyGringo - I say "Hell yes!" to the Zappa.  It's been entirely too long since I gave him a good listening to.<br/> <br/> I actually posted that to test out how to embed for AOTW. This song has some of my all time favorite vocal harmonies. Rarely is anything bo...

<r>Boards of Canada are two Scottish Brothers who make unique electronica. Using analog synths and warped samples, their music combines occult and nostalgic influences to create something both creepy and familiar, ambient and groovy. I figured this would be a good pick since they just released a new...

I'm not gonna vote, but for what it's worth their cover of Desolation Row is the only thing I remember hearing...and I remember thinking it was the worst cover I've ever heard. Sounded like everything else on alt rock radio.

<t>This album has me split right down the middle. The bass is definitley the standout and the guitar complements it very well at times. The vocals weren't that bad, but not amazing. Just kind of what you'd expect with a band like this. There were definitely a few moments that caught my attention, bu...

Not bad! I wasn't expecting much after the first track but it started pulling me in more as it progressed. I liked the call and response stuff in Ray Ray, kinda reminded me of some of my favorite Kraftwerk moments.

I don't even feel I have the right to say CAD is terrible, as the audio quality is terrible on that public access recording. However, you can get a sense of things not meshing well when you do listen to it. Gotta love the ska version of Sober!

I kind of miss the hard hits from Era Vulgaris, but I like how this is the their most progressive album and it ties so well to the self-titled. Bloody horrorshow, Mr. Homme!
