Reading "The Diamond Age" by Stephenson right now.  I liked "Cryptonomicon" and "Anathem" by him.  Also, I'm on Goodreads.

Sound-wise, it makes complete sense to have the singer in the back.  Having amplifiers firing directly into the mics is just asking for trouble.  He also claims to have trouble dealing with flashing lights, so there's probably many reasons why he chose to start singing in the back.

Probably not making a whole lot off the event after paying the restaurant or catering service or whatever.  Seems more like a marketing ploy for his wine.

Their personal lives are of no concern to me.  Just make the music and do your job.

I saw them at Lollapalooza a couple years ago.  The sound was absolutely terrible.  All anyone could hear were the drums and the vocals.

I like to think I'm smart enough to not leave that stuff lying around, but who knows.
